No doubt that he can coach and recruit, I just hope some of his personal issues are behind him, these days.

Billy Clyde will make Tech a winner. He will recruit well, and he is just quirky enough to be loved by the Tech family.

Kinda like Pirate Leach huh? Hope administration can deal with his quirks - unlike their hatred for Leach.

Admin is completely different than when leach was there. Myeres and hence are retiring.

Billy Clyde isn't an a- hole like Leach. His big issue at Kentucky was when the pressure was on, he drank too much. He may have some oddities but he could have stayed at A&M forever. There are a select few schools that are so tradition rich and prestigious that when they call, coaches listen (Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas, etc). The problem with those schools is the pressure is on right away.

Good luck to Coach Gillespie.

Hance is about 69 years of age and Myers is about 74. The only thing they are running to is the restroom 4 times a night.

Both are help puttting together some great building blocks for the future before they retire.

I wish BCG well, but I think his time has passed. There is a reason no one wanted him after Kentucky stint. He will win some games and get recruits to Lubbock some kind of way, but it will not be like his turn around job at A&M.

I think the real reason no one wanted him is because he has a documented drinking problem and a pending lawsuit against Kentucky. Even when the name came up I raised an eyebrow, a risk no doubt, but I think he is still well within his prime coaching days.

All he has to do in Lubbock to be a good hire is bring in a crowd at the home games and make the March.....if he does that he will do well in the land of the sand....
