Do you support your bitterest rival in the postseason? It was just brought up because me and some friends were arguing rather or not to support our huge rival Mexia in the state tournament.

Hell no!

my coach said it best, " If i saw Burleson on a piece of paper I just want to rip it up, spit on it, piss on it, and stomp on it."

Thats how i feel about my rivals.

Depends....I support my team most, my district 2nd and my region next. Sometimes those rivals are not any of those..

In the postseason, yes.

I wouldn't support Snyder in a race to get out of a burning building

I'll never root against kids but I can't see myself ever supporting Mexia or Teague. But I don't wish bad things on any of them by any means.

How about a race to run into a burning building?

When Robinson was making it's State run, I sat on their side at Temple and rooted them on. A couple of years later, LaVega decided to take a different route through the playoffs that allowed us to tag along. A large group of Robinson supporters showed up on our side at Waco stadium; then half through the 1st quarter began cheering for the opposition, including signs.

The next year, while we were playing Carthage deep in the State run, I had a large number of reports of Mexia followers sitting on the Carthage side.

I normally support Rockdale when they are in the playoffs. I sat on the Rockdale side during the Columbus game.

If it's not WC doing well, there's no team I'd rather see win than Sweeny... or biggest rival.

NOT Rockdale

And Not La Vega, Robinson, Lorena, Connally or Gatesville..

I would pay to go watch them play and sit on their side but I WILL NOT root for them.

I think thats a compliment? Honestly, the Brownwood/Stephenville rivalry isnt as hardcore as it once was. It is still a hard fought game but now I have no problem rooting for the dirt daubers.

I didn't used to because .... well just because. Some teams I do not like at all and will never root for like the Philidelphia Eagles. I don't care who plays for them. I hate 'em.

I usually root for the underdogs when we are done or the team that put us out when that happens.

I will root for the team that knocks us out unless its Celina.:D
j/k However I did root for China Spring that year that Celina beat us out in the quarterfinals. No hard feelings just would have rather seen the underdog win in that match up.

To add to that if we miss the playoffs then I will root for our district first then region, unless brownwood is playing them. Cant help it I have too many family and friends on the team not to root for them.:D

Makes it easier when they are not in the same classification anymore. :D One week out of the year... NEVER, rest of season... you bet. Especially if rival is playing Aledo. More homerism in that little slice of the Westoplex than in Brownwood and Stephenville combined!

Since there is a two tiered playoff, I almost always root for district rivals in their ladders. Then I usually root for pre-season rivals that make the playoffs (usually a common thing for Gidding's pre-season opponents). Fitzhenry would always go for challenging preseason games. Played state champs and many other playoff contenders in non district games.
