Sorry to show my ignorance, but who is DC? Glad to see someone gave a little notice to Decatur. They seemed to miss everyones top ten here in 3A Lowdown

Amazing..... as big a fan of G.A. Moore as DC is, PP is not in the top 25? Who's picked to win 9AAA?

no real surprises ... the downlow prognositcators look to be pretty accurate compared to "the experts" ... guess we'll find out

I'm guessing he ordered it on the texasfootball.com website cuz they were sopposed to send it early..

The rankings have been posted on TxPreps.com. DCTF is notorious for NOT sending the magazine early when they say they will.

Nice place for Commerce to start the year. Right out of the top ten in good stalking position for our every other year run for state. Probably would have put Dangerfield a little higher, but dont know who I would have moved down. A great season coming this year. Heck I think they are all great. Good luck to all this year.

If he had ranked us in the top 25 there would have been three teams out of district 9 in the top 25, since Gainesville and Celina are both ranked. I would rank us in the Top Forty which aint bad with one year in 3A and 207 teams to choose from. Wait till three games deep in District play and things will probably change. :p

I'd say the first 2 games of district play will pretty much settle alot of things! It will be nice having you guys at our house for a change.

Lol polls are funny. DC ranked us #10 last year coming off a 1-9 season with a young team. Now we do have alot of talent, a good coach, and we aren't ranked. The only poll that I care about is the one when the season is over. :) wink

Decatur was the Down Low Region I Pre-Season "Team To Watch" in 2002 and they were never absent from the Top 10.

Hey...I have plugged Decatur 3 or 4 times this year already and I am not even from the DFW area! I think that Decatur and Greenwood are the teams to beat in Region I, Division 2.

Yes it is gonna be fun playing on the "East Side' of G.A.'s Ranch this year. The Battle of the Cats is always my favorite game of the year. I agree that alot will be settled after the first two games, I was just giving those boys over in Gainesville there just due. With all three of us playing each other in the first three weeks again, district will settled and we will find out which of the three will have to win out for third. Guess you know it's our turn to take yall after that amazing run or yours, but then again we still are a few games ahead for the all time list, so it will be a great game as always. Boy ol' Keith sure is confident aint he? :D Course he was sure they were gonna tear yall a new one last year after that fluke game against us too huh? Oh well, good luck to all of the District Nine teams this year, if we can all stay healthy it will be a fun run.

BC1 and Vet 3- I ment no offence. You are right they were listed as the team to watch last year. Just that when this years string of "who is everyones top ten" and the "Early, early, top ten poll" was going around, only 1 or 2 folks even mentioned Decatur.

Yes, Woodsman, Vet93, et al... Decatur will be a strong contender this year in Region I. They should have the tools leftover from last year's team to make a really great run.

And "gasp" this is coming from a maroon blooded BRIDGEPORT BULL.

Oh well... BOOOMB, WDA, GO BULLS!

Well the last past two seasons no one has given everman credit.I guess dave wont either. That's cool i like where we are placed i guess well have to see in December again.Hopefully he will be wrong a third season in a row. Besides Burnet is the team to beat!!!

LOL! Why am I NOT surprised about this poll???

Don't get me wrong, I love "The Bible" but some of these picks are absolutely ridiculous! Yoakum shouldn't even be on there! And Gilmer? Where did THEY come from?

And in typical Dave Campbell fashion, Region IV gets snubbed again.

dont see how you can say "no one has given everman credit" ... good lord what do you want !?!?!??!

Yoakum at #22? They lost a lot of their leadership and skill players. They will be be good but not a top 25 team.

well i meant nothing wrong by that 3afan i might have worded that wrong its just u would think everman has been on top for two years now and in all the polls i've seen to this point we have been ranked 2 or lower in the past three years i have never seen everman ranked #1 for the preaseason.Thats all but your right i just worded it wrong.

when you win the state championship, then EVERYONE knows you're #1 ... until then the polls are fun and interesting and provide good, sometimes heated conversation, but they're hardly a measure of respect ... good luck to Everman, would like to see a semi-final rematch with Forney in '03 (of course this time FHS wins !!!). :D

I figured dfield would have been in the top 10, but oh well, better to start out as the underdog and not have that big target painted on them

Everman01Grad,

DCTF had Everman at #1 last year.

My early thoughts..

I am shocked Carthage isn't at least in the Top 25..I thought they were rated a lil high last year..but this year a ranking is deserved...Canyon and Decatur being in the top 10 surprises me some..I thought they'd be in the 15-20 range...Daingerfield I think is a lil low...I am stunned Snyder got into the rankings again after a pretty disappointing 3A debut...
