If you havn't been there in a while you might be suprised. I moved away 3 years ago and at that time there was a very strong push to clear away some of the junky homes. It still had a long way to go but was getting nicer. They also openned up a bunch of new home lots.

Bull, you had Amon Carter on your list. My wifes grandad bought a big ol lot on that lake before it actually filled up after they built it. He built a big nice place on it and I have been going up there since 1971 when my wife and I started dating. We spend alot of time up there. It's a pretty nice little lake, untill you have to go in to Bowie. Going in to Bowie is like being time warped back about 50 yrs. We always draw straws to see who has to go. Lots of people there that have eyes that are a little too close together, and also a lot of people that have unusually small heads. It's weird. If you go at night and roll your windows down and be real quiet, you can always hear some dualling banjos.

And when that summer sun
Starts beating down
And you don't know what to do
Just grab your crappie pole
Ice up the old Igloo
Drive until the map turns blue

I also love Texoma! I RV and camp there quite a bit during the summer. We normally have a big July 4th gathering at Preston Bend park every year. Are you familiar with Preston Bend?

I have a slip brushed out at Big Mineral and stay pretty close to there. I've seen Preston Bend on the map before but never been over there.

My dad was the best fisherman I ever knew. He could jig for cappie and pull em' in when nobody was even catching them on the same jigs. One time in Colorado at a trout stream, I saw him walk up to a lady who was just leaving a spot and ask--"Giving up?" and she replied..."Yea, I haven't caught anything all day." Well, he stepped up to the bank--made 3 casts with his flyrod and snagged a nice Rainbow. The lady got so mad she threw her creel in the creek and stomped off. :D
