Gatesville Basketball Tournament

If anyone has any updates on this tourney, please post here. I'm really interested in the girls side. I think my Lady Bobcats are in this tournament.

Orangefield beat Hamilton 48-39 tonight. They now play Groesbeck at noon tomorrow.

That Myers girl and her teammates are the real deal for Orangefield this season. I wish them well as they move forward....How did they do against groesbeck? How did the tournament turn out?

The Lady Cats had a very good tournament finishing with a 2-1 record. They opened the tourney with a good win over class 2A's #6 team Hamilton 48-39. They then played a very good Groesbeck team(ranked 12th I believe) and came up short in a hard fought loss 57-53. The Lady Cats only shot 4-18 from the freethrow line, something they haven't done all year. The night before Groesbeck beat #4 Liberty Hill by eight, so there was some real quality teams in this tourney. Yesterday the Cats beat Salado by 18 to finish their tourney games. This young ladies should be very proud of the efforts this past week. They now should have the confidence they if they keep working they can play with anyone at the 3A level.

Hey what about Freshman Kristy Sanders making the all tournament team! This should give here even more confidence for district play. Good Luck ladies next Tuesday in Hamshire-Fannett.
