This is what it's all about. Shown (left to right) are Coach Walker presenting Chad May, Vincent Rivera, and Aaron Thomas for making the Academic All-State 2nd-Team. All three young men will graduate with a greater than 4.0 GPA! They are ranked #6, 10, & 11 respectively in their class.

Other awards:
Chad May - 1st Team All-District @ OT. Don't think he ever allowed a sack. Accepted to Baylor. Wants to be a youth minister.

Vincent Rivera - Unanimous 1st Team All-District @ LB. Heavily pursued by many schools (especially West Point). Accepted to Angelo State & will pursue Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Aaron Thomas - Unanimous 1st Team All-District @ WR. District Offensive MVP, All-State Honorable Mention @ DB. Wants to be a sports agent. Last I heard he may be going to Stephen F. Austin to continue his football career.

Whomever said today's youth is messed up hasn't been to Burnet!

I LOVE THESE KIDS!

i saw that but i was gonna ask how someone has over a 4.0 if it's a 4.0 scale......are they on a 5.0 system?

important thing is they sound like great young men.....you should be proud.....

AP classes usually are weighted higher.

Scale is 4.0. Don't know exactly how it works, but these 3 have been taking AP courses for quite a while. And, somehow that makes a difference in the ranking system. Maybe someone else can explain better....I'm just a dumbass....

normal class
100-4.0
90-3.0
80-2.0
etc

ap class
100-5.0
90-4.0
80-3.0
etc...

I think this is the way it works. I might be wrong though

It's the same scale but in ap classes you receive an extra 10 points toward ur gpa which would give u 100+
