View Full Version : Live cam on eagles nest in Iowa
Someone at work turned me on to this. Eagles nest in Iowa. They had a rabbit in the nest yesterday. No eggs yet. Show your kids.

Dang, I didn't realize this had sound too. My volume was turned down. Just heard some geese making their geesing sounds....
Hey, a school bus just passed by. Coulda sworn it said Brownwood ISD on it....:D

G, are you drinkin'? There are no babies on the nest yet. Gotta lay the eggs first. There was an empty bottle of Merlot on the nest but it's gone now. So, I reckon the birds are off mating somewhere where the cams aren't filming them.....

Hey Cam, you should climb up that tree not to far from where you live and put a cam in the bald eagle nest in Texas.

Holy cow! According to the folks on the eagle forum, they just mated. All I saw was the eagles go off camera then all "love" hell broke loose! I never heard an eagle make sounds like that..but according to the experts, the female was saying something like, "Watch it, watch it, your bending my wing"....it was pretty quick....kinda like most men according to you gals.....not sure, but you can see a little smoke coming into the screen on the upper left hand corner....must be smokin' a cig now..let the egg layin' begin..

That's a great idea! And I happen to work for a company that builds machine vision systems. We have the technology! However, there's a few problems I see with me doing it:
1) I'm scared of heights
2) I'm not the greatest of tree climbers
3) If I get anywhere near that nest with a chick in it, I'll be coming back down with a missing ear or something! Momma & poppa bird don't take crap from humans.
4) If the eagles don't get me, the land owner will with his 270!
5) Being that I'm tall, dark, & handsome, if I climb that tree and an INS van/truck happens to pass by, they'll be thinkin' I just crossed the Llano river and just using the tree as a lookout post!
So Beast, maybe next year when the nest is empty & before the eagles come back, you and I can get together. I'll supply the equipment and watch you come crashin' down a tree!

They just mated again......talk about quick draw mcgraw!! It probably lasted 3.5 seconds!!:eek:

Quick Draw McGraw! That does it! Enough of the name callin'..Us poor guys are always the one's with the pressure to perform. If it's not length, it's girth. Then it's endurance and stamina. Now we're blasted with all these infomercials for funny little pills that probably do nothing except change the shape of your eye's lenses which in turn makes you see things larger! Thus, your eyes are ruined! It's time guys band together, write your local congressman, and propose the passing of the Pubococcygeal Bill! (otherwise known as the Kegel Bill). This bill would then force all women to perform at least 50 kegel exercises a day to help "tighten up" the situation. For some of you guys, they may need to do 100 a day!
So, write today, don't delay...enough is enough...ah...or actually, enough is never enough....:D damn i'm fixin' to get run off this site........when's football season start again?....;)

Can this thread be stickyed so that it isnt lost? This is really neat. The live feed will go for several more months until the baby eagles leave the nest.

No I've never watched that show. I've run into it a few times while flippin' channels. Seems like everytime I have, one of them hot shot doctors is jumpin' some lady in his office! And he's gettin' paid for it! So, did they fix Rosie? Poor Rosie, even the animals don't like her....

Yesterday some lady and her 8 y/o granddaughter were watching together and this guy starts talking crap, when she said her 8 year grandaughter was watching and reading, he said **** you and **** your granddaughter too!!
On here....that would have been an automatic ban, bye bye forever...he got threatened with a time out because it was his first notice. Needless to say he was permanently banned in the next 30 minutes.
I was on there earlier today and read where some teacher had her 2nd grade class watching and reading...everyone was welcoming them in and then some idiot types..."welcome 2nd graders, you know that santa clause isn't real and your parents put your presents under the tree."
That may be kinda funny actually....but for those parents and "grandparents" who see the innocence of our kids being lost at younger and younger ages.....anyway, I called him a bad word from my desk!!:D
Mostly....it's just mouthy smart-asses.....some of them remind me of a few "kids" here!!

yea, they fixed Rosie's mouth.. She has been on the show several times.. she and her ex won a powerball lotto and had butt-loads of money and she's always getting some kind of plastic surgery lol.......

yep, it's been a bit boring. But things should start happening real soon. Eggs I think are supposed to hatch around April 1st.

There is a rabbit laying in the nest now!
I tried to get a pic of both eagles in the nest, but the mom flew off before I could. You can see the rabbit in the lower left hand corner. The Dad is in the upper right hand corner...he just flew in to relieve mom.
