This was a great tv series from 1957 to 1960. These were consistently good and this one is a good one. It is set in Tombstone, AZ in the 1880s and stars Pat Conway as Sheriff Clay Hollister and Richard Eastham as Harris the newspaper man and also the narrator. Enjoy.

(The thing that bothers me Harris is that the backshooter is the one left alive.) What a classic line!

In this episode a very young Michael Landon (before becoming famous in Bonanza) falls for the outlaw Rose of the Rio Bravo.

This is another good episode. Watch how Sheriff Hollister tricks the Mexican bandido into crossing the border into the U.S. so he can arrest him. A classic indeed.

I agree. This was a good one. Back in the fifities and sixties TV had a bunch of 30 minute series. Only a few of them were consistently good such as this one, Wanted Dead or Alive with Steve McQueen, The Deputy with John Russell, The Rifleman, Gunsmoke (when it was 30 minutes) and others.

This series lasted three seasons (which if a series last three or more years it was considered a success) and I saw many of these episodes when it was on syndication in the later sixties. These episodes were made in the late 50s. Unfortunately it didn't last longer because they kept putting up against tough competition and it wasn't till a few years after it was canceled that many realized how good they were.

During the fifties and on through the mid seventies I think it ihas been said that television had at least one western series every night. Quite often several.

Another good one called Amnesty. What a line by Clay.
Sheriff Clay Hollister: "There's one man the amnesty doesn't apply to."
The Killer "Who?"
Sheriff Hollister: "Me."

Enjoy another good one.

This is the first episode that started this great series. It aired for the first time on Wednesday, October 16, 1957 with just over 90 more to come. Enjoy.

This one is The Outcasts and is about prejudice and a good one. The guest star is Henry Brandon and I think he plays the Elder in this one. He was in many movies and tv series and is most famous as the Indian Scar in the John Wayne movie The Searchers. He was also Captian Dannette in the Gary Cooper - Burt Lancaster movie Vera Cruz which also had Ernest Borgnine and Charles Bronson. Enjoy.

I remember another good one in this series that involved a Black US Marshall and Sheriff Hollister and the editor and the Marshall had to deal with prejudice as the Marshall had to arrest a popular citizen for a federal crime. I don't remember the name of the episode but hopefully it will get posted eventually because it is a good one. I don't remember the episode too good but I am sure that the towns people realized that the popular person wasn't so good after all.

In this episode an act comes to town portraying himself as the Fastest Gunman in the World. Unfortunately some gunmen in Tombstone want to challenge him. Can Clay prevent the violence. I hope so.
The manager is played by the man who was later Otis on The Andy Griffith Show.

In this one Clay hears the shot of a murderer but rides on. What a beginning! I hope he catches the murderer anyway.
