They are in the bottom of the 8th and Corpus is winning 8 to 7 and is threatening to score again in the bottom of the 8th. Texas is not playing their ace pitchers. We could have an upset here.

Horns are fortunate that Corpus didn't get any more runs. Their bats seem to have come alive and they should score some runs and take over the game. Still not a well played game by them. Still Corpus is only 6 outs from victory.

After 8 innings Corpus leads 8 to 7. In the bottom of the 8th Corpus got two outs fairly quickly and then had walks that gave Texas a chance but a fly out saved them. Corpus is three outs from a big upset but they bat at the top of the 9th and have a chance to increase the lead. We will see. This will be a great win for Corpus but I haven't seen the whole game so I don't know if Texas is playing bad or Corpus playing good or a combination of both.

Texas holds them out and now Corpus is down to three outs from the upset. We will see.

Texas St. vs. Rice tomorrow in San Marvelous...

Should be a pretty good game. Rice will probably conserve some pitching cuz they had a game tonight I believe they also have a weekend series with USC in Houston

Rice lost to Lamar tonight 12-7

Lamar put up 23 hits against #22 Rice.
Tomorrow's starting pitcher for Rice came through with a 3 run HR in the 9th to make it closer than it really was

I never take early season games into account when discussing collegiate baseball.

OU is looking pretty stout. Calallen has two pitchers on the squad John and Duke.

heck in college baseball it prolly is best to not take any midweek games into account as well no matter what point of the season...too many times a team in a major baseball conference plays a team in a minor one and the major team is using their 4th best starting pitcher to start while the minor one throws their ace since the major team is going to be playing someone they need their 1, 2, and 3 guys against during the weekend while the minor team can win the weekend series with 2, 3, and 4...

pretty sure no one really uses their aces in midweek games.........even the minor teams need to use their 1's and 2's in their conference or weekend series.

I have to agree with nasty. All the teams use mid week games as warm ups for the conference games on weekends. You would think that the big time schools (Big 12, sec, etc) would have better pitching depth than the small schools but it doesnt always work out that way now does it? I will say that the small schools are usually more motivated to win the mid weeks games vs powerhouse conference schools and this is sometimes the deciding factor. The prima dona big school teams just dont get after it and come out flat.

Nice to see him back on the mound...he underwent Tommy John surgery in 2009.
