Do you use one? Have you seen a performance upgrade?
These have come down in price to make them very affordable for everyone.
Is it worth the 80 bucks for a 100 G hard drive now in terms of performance and speed?

I'd appreciate any opinions.

I've seen a significant upgrade with speed, but only when I multitask a lot with big files (photos from a 12 MP camera, videos, etc.). During normal, day-to-day operation, it's negligible.

However, reliability of data transfer at those speeds wound up being the best thing about my SSHD.

It's worth it to me, personally, but it all depends on what you're using it for.

If your looking for reliability, it's huge. My laptop has burned up 2 hard drives in 3 years because of the huge data bases that I build and manipulate for work. The SSD has fixed many of the reliability issues.

If your not doing anything very taxing, the other drives are fine.

Also the peace of mind that if you bump or otherwise impact the computer while the drive is doing it's thing, you won't knock the HD out of whack and trash it along with your data.
