Which coach has/had the most Texas highschool football state titles in their careers?

I going to guess G.A. Moore or Gordon Wood?

Gordon Wood had a total of nine I believe, not sure who has the most.

I know GA has most career wins but SCs, I'm not sure. GA has 6 if I am not mistaken. 74,95,98,99,00,01?? I don't know if Wood won all the Brownwood titles.

Do SCs as an assistant count, too?

Gordon Wood coached 11 state champions, 9 in football, 1 in golf, and 1 in track and field. Hence not have the most all time for all sports but he has the most football state championships.

G. Wood had Nine State wins 2 in Stamford I think and 7 in Brownwood.

Do you think there will be coaches that accomplish these kinds of numbers in the future? Seems to be more and more competitive each year.

I don't, rarly do you see a coach exceptional enought to win a sc make a career at the HS ranks. Most move up to college, NFL etc....

I agree. I think Briles wouldve been able to reach 7 or 8 had he stayed in Stephenville. He has 4 and they have come close several times since he left. He seemed to be the difference in winning and losing those tight ones.

I believe they were DQed for one of the SCs at Stamford because of an ineligible player. (Living in the firehouse.)

I agree.

He also won a state title as baseball coach in Southlake (I think), and was offensive coordinator for 3 football SCs at SC.

I thought he only won at SLC?
