It's gonna be at least another year and half. lmao

and 5 years is a lot. Maybe I should re-figure the poll. I doubt anyone got engaged in less than 6 months, but I've heard stories.

Oh well...

We also came real close to getting married at about the 8 month mark. JP was closed.

We knew we'd marry each other within two months of when we met, we just had to wait to get out of college.

It doesn't matter if you have been dating for 1 day or 20 years you won't know how she really is until you get married then the true colors will arise. For whatever reason things just change very very fast when you place the ring on the finger. :D

By the way my wife and I dated for 3 years before we got married.

Get ready and hold on it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

About a week. That's how long it took her to realize what she had in me.:D I was hooked minute 1. It's lasted 22 years and counting. The first wife:doh: wasn't as lucky as this one. She only stuck for 7 years.

First date in May 1978.
Decided to get married in January 1978.
Married August 1979.
Realized that it was forever---within 6 months of saying I do.
Beat down to always just say Yes maam by year two.
Three kids and about 31 1/2 years later, still in love and happy to call her my wife.

AND, the only ones of our siblings to have never been divorced.

When I asked my wife out I told her the only way we even start this thing is if we plan on forever, so we already knew what was coming and bout 5 and a half months later I popped the question.

I took my wife to be out twice before we were engaged. I was off to serve our county. Two months later we were married while I was on leave between basic and my next assignment. That was in April '65 and we are still hanging out 45 years later.

I dated my wife for about 3 months before we tied the knot. We knew we were right for each other from the moment we first talked to each other. Sometimes it happens that way, sometimes not. Each person is different. Before I met her I had always thought I would've waited longer. I'm glad I didn't! Fourteen years and two daughters later, I can honestly say that it was the best thing that ever happened to me, other than my salvation, that is!

Met on June 4, I told her that I was gonna marry her three days later, she broke up with her boyfriend on July 4, I proposed on Aug 4, and got married on Dec 29. We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Pancho and his goat was my best men. Same goat was served at the reception.

Actually I was careless in my clicking. The 2 plus years should be one less and the less than 6 months should be one more.

People should take time to get to know each other or the marriages may not last. Heck, I have only been married to my wife 26 years and we are still together. :)

STARTED dating my first husband at 14...married him at 18....divorced him at 40 (2 kids) . Married again at 45....been married for 16 years. Too old to do it again so this one better be good. All kidding aside....He makes me very happy most of the time and I try to keep him happy. It works.

Me and my wife went to school together and were really good friends, even after we graduated (2002 for me, 2003 for her).

We started dating in 2005 and were engaged in October of 2006. Got married June 9, 2007. Approaching 4 years with 2 kids!

There are way too many factors. Bro. One size does not fit all. My wife and I had dated a week (3 times) and it was over. I did not propose officially for about 2 months and we were married in 5. Coming up on 15 years of bliss and wonderful children. She is still hot to me and always will be.

best as I remember, I proposed after about 2 1/2 minutes. In her words "best 2 1/2 minutes of her life".

Actually we started dating the summer after her 8th grade year and my sophomore yr. Dated 7 yrs and been married 34. When I finally proposed, she was so shocked that I had finally asked her to marry me, she nearly fell off the bed. I finally asked her to marry me because I was impressed by how she kept "elbowing her way to the front of the line". :D :D :inlove: :inlove:
