Hearing reports out of Temple that Fitzhenry from Giddings is front runner for the job. I hope he does not stiff them like he did Dobie last year.

Have a Temple follower on 4A board saying it is BW's coach. Did he even apply?

I read that on the 4A board, too...but for some reason I just can't see that happening. Then again, what the heck do I know?

Spoke with a friend in Temple, he told me that Jimmy Mitchell's name has surfaced. Does he have ties in Belton?

Haven't heard that he applied, I can't imagine him doing that. One of the main reasons he came to BWD was to get out of 5A ball.

well..the main reason was he was not in a real one school town that really threw their weight behind the football program..Yes Coppell is only hs there, but is surronded by so many schools and again at that time it was not like they had a rabid following

Mitchell's mom lives in Belton area, and his wife is from Belton. that would be a good move for him.

They do now. Dont think Shipley wanted to put in the work that was required to get the community excited about football. I know that was his biggest complaint, that he had to compete with other sports. McBride's got some experience with that element, so I think he knew how to handle it.
