Temple Head Coaching Job (http://www.tdtnews.com/story/2011/1/7/71550)

The Cameron Yoe coach currently appears to be "undecided"...and I personally think it needs to stay that way.

The Giddings HC seems very interested in the job, but Temple is under a lot of pressure to get this one right.

So, basically, the TDN just decided to call coaches that they wanted to see apply? Wow!
Pretty funny that they called Mathis and Shipley. Those guys would never in a million years leave what they've got for Temple! LOL

Temple may have a hard time reaching past success levels just because Belton has had a lot of success lately and will keep atheletes that may have played for Temple in the past. IMO.

Belton has had low to moderate success(for their standards) over the last few years I would say. Temple has the capability of being one of those top programs again. They need a coach with discipline, plain and simple.

Possibly, but I do not see it happening. I heard his name connected with Caldwell???? Probably just a rumor.

68 applicants

Article (http://www.tdtnews.com/story/2011/1/12/71668)

Shipley appears to be staying put. TDT did not hear back from Rick Rhoades of Cameron Yoe or Lee Fedora of Navasota.

From what ive heard Rhoades did not apply, but I am not sure on Fedora.

Well I could give you a few reasons:

1. 5A school
2. Pay(possibly)
3. Maybe he dosent like what he sees coming up in Navastota(They have a pretty good JV and Freshmen class from what ive seen)

There is no doubt that a job like Temple will take a lot of work to rebuild. Whomever comes in will need to key on discipline....because they have the talent to win.

Someone in the DFW area had a radio show about coaching and they said Temple was one of the five best in the state. Tradition and potentiial.
