Still gotta go with GW Bush. Not many in the world don't know who he is. Gonna bet not many in Afghanistan or Siberia know who Nolan Ryan or Lance Armstrong are.

Ignoring the fact that your post shows some obvious political bias, what about global recognition means he's not a celebrity? Aren't politicians celebrities? In the age when he took over the Presidency with things like the internet and social media, George W. Bush might be the most documented person in world history, let alone the state of Texas.

Name recognition does not equal celebrity. Do you consider Osama Bin Laden a celebrity?

Actually, it does. Celebrity is how well you are known and/or recognized. So bin-Ladin actually could be considered a celebrity in the U.S. because I'm sure most everyone with a TV or computer knows who he is. Doesn't mean that anyone has to like him, but almost everyone knows who he is.

Hey, George Bush still isn't from Texas...so argue all you want about whether or not name recognition and hatred equal being a celebrity but it still won't change the fact that he was not born in Texas.

(the) Bush (es) might now of been born in Texas but they were good enough for the people of Texas to elected to represent the state in government..................I think they might be Texan enough.

Davy Crockett was on that Wikipedia.....not Texan.

Not trying to be political. Just know that the world gave a big sigh of relief 2 years ago. It wouldn't have mattered if Mickey Mouse was elected.
