Question

Notre Dame is punting. Miami signals fair catch, the ball hits the receiver and bounces up.

The Notre Dame player starts to catch the deflection in the air, but chooses to let it hit the ground.

Question: Can he catch the bobble in the air or does it have to hit the ground before it becomes live?

Don't know if I made it on TV or not but I was one of the guys haulin drunks out of the Sun Bowl tonight! It was freakin Cold! The field was covered with snow just before halftime! 5 hours later I'm almost thawed out!
