Santa got busted!!

My 5 year old just totally busted me getting "Santa's" gifts ready after the kids had gone to bed. He got up to go to the bathroom and I was in the guestroom (right next to his bathroom) with my arms full of loot. I felt like a teenager getting caught sneaking out of the house (not that I ever did that ;) ). I fibbed my way out of it and he was so sleepy that I think he bought it, but I have this sad feeling like I just ruined the idea of the magic of Santa for him. :( Yes, I do know that Christmas is not supposed to be about Santa and we do try teach our kids that, but anyway...I'm bummed. :(

I am guilty as well tonight, youngest overheard Santa planning strategy for the evening. Needless to say wife considers that I have been naughty and will be punished. Oops!

neighbor kids broke the news to my son a couple weeks ago

he is 8 and was worried this entire lead up to today about presents... he didn't seem to think that we would still get him something

earlier this morning was a glorious shock though... he found the loot still delivered, just as years before

Thankfully, he didn't seem to remember a thing this morning and the legend lives on...haha. :) I worried most of the night about it, which I realize is silly but he just turned 5 last week and he's my youngest so I'm not ready to let go of that magical part of Christmas, I guess.

Anyway....I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas! Ours has been fabulous! :)
