Gotta do better than a gift card. Besides, we're Tractor Supply folks, and 50% of the ranch expenses are mine anyway. We're 50/50 partners on it.

See, this is damned near impossible! I was thinking a flat screen TV, but he loves the TV he already has.

Any hobbies he has that you could get a gift that might enhance it... For example, getting a hunter a new gun etc...

You will catch plenty of fish. I have no idea what he charges but you usually can take 2 people so you and he could go together.

I ordered some neat stuff online from King Ranch Saddle Shop (krsaddleshop.com ).

I got my son (loves to fish and hunt) one of those incredibly expensive Yeti coolers.

I can't imagine anyone not wanting a flat screen TV though.

If he likes TV at all, get him a Blu-Ray home theater system. I'm older than he is and I love mine. (assuning he doesn't already have one).

The surround sound is worth the investment. Makes it great watching football and such. Definitely helps if one is a tad hard of hearing like me.

Depends on the brand. Wal Mart was carrying a Philips (non-Blu-Ray) system last year for about $299. Sony Blu-Ray was about $500 or so. Pioneer makes a decent one too. This time of year, there should be some really good deals on these, so shop around a bit. I bought the Philips non Blu-Ray and really enjoy it. It makes movies on AMC even better to watch.

Sin66, you have my attention. I think you've got it. But, I have no idea what Im looking for. Give me the hooked on phonics verson as to what Im looking, brand names, features, and instalation.

$215 was for a 35 qt. I can get a 45 qt for just under $230. Of course, we're not retail either......

How much does he love his recliner/tv? Would a mini-fridge be beneficial to him, so he doesnt have get up a lot for drinks/snacks?

Also, what about wireless speakers so that he can listen to games on tv when he's outside or anything like that? I know best buy has one that can take the signal from a computer/tv/mp3 player.

Leaning towards that sound system. He doesn't really watch enough movies for a BluRay, and the only thing he's actually said he wants is a new truck. But the sound system is something he'd never buy for himself, but if he had it he'd probably love it.

Here's a Blu-Ray AND a 5.1 surround sound system... all for around 2 fiddy!

Sony system at Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/SONY+-+BRAVIA+850W+5.1-Ch.+3D/Wi-Fi+ready+Blu-ray+Home+Theater+System/1443404.p?id=1218268572832&skuId=1443404&st=surround%20system&contract_desc=null#BVRRWidgetID)

I REALLY like my Yamaha surround sound system. Here is a nice budget under tree-fiddy one that includes the speakers.
Yamaha 5.1 sound system (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Yamaha+-+600W+5.1-Ch.+Home+Theater+System/9875451.p?id=1218187080690&skuId=9875451&st=surround%20system&cp=1&lp=1)

Good luck!

Read the reviews on this one. It seems like a great deal.

I spent hours looking for the right home theater system for my family and I. I went through ALL the big box stores, looked at hundreds of systems, much less and much more than this Yamaha system. The Bose system, for a whopping $2250 sounded AMAZING. This Yamaha system, while not quite as clear the Bose (a little harsh around 1K), it was well worth the almost 85% savings in cost! This system is on sale for just $349 and is worth every penny. It's LOUD, clear and hasn't distorted yet. The bass is phenomenal. A truly unbelievable system for the money. I would recommend this to ANYONE looking for a great home theater system for their home. We teamed it up with a Vizio high def TV and Blu Ray player. I opted to use optical inputs instead of HDMI and it's amazing. Very easy to set-up, plenty of speaker wire (though its a very low gauge). Great product, great value.

I'm a Best Buy employee, specifically a Home Theater Specialist. I did plenty of research before buying this product. Between speaking with my fellow associates, reading the reviews on this website, and doing my own research on the system, I decided to buy this system. Right off the bat the Yamaha* name caught my attention. Yamaha has, and after this purchase continues to deliver excellent sound.
First things first.
Price: This system is not worth the 349$ I paid for it. It's worth much more. The 4 satellite speakers, center, and POWERED, not passive sub, all on top of the SOLID receiver you get with it, are simply put, a steal for the consumer.
Sound Quality: I happen to be a music buff. I'm the type of guy who grabs his guitar, his amp, his distortion pedal, and his EQ, and sits down for hours until the sound is absolutely what I'm looking for. When it comes to sound, I'm as picky as it gets, and this home theater does not disappoint.

Bought this product on Black Friday and love it so far! The sound is excellent for the money. The set up was fairly easy except for the fact that you had to cut and strip your own speaker wire, the benefit of doing this is that you can choose your own length of wire for your specific setup. Also had to buy a HDMI cable to hook the product into the TV as well. Mostly use for football games and XBOX 360 which sounds great! Still have not found any speaker stands to fit....

Hope this helps!

So, the $250 looks better than the $350. What's the difference?

The Sony 250 is a combo Blu-ray(think video and movies) surround sound system. You can play DVDs and Blu-ray videos on that system. BUT, the audio quality is not near as good as the 350 Yamaha system.

If you want just audio for football games and all(music and more), go for the Yamaha...
If you are looking for a decent budget "all-in-one" starter system, go for the Sony.

My preference is the Yamaha...
you can always buy a Blu-ray player later if your dad wants one. ;)
