He is Jose L. Maldonado. He was in the Marines and was from Mathis. He played football and baseball and the tuba in the Mathis HS band. According to his birthday given he was not yet 21. Pray for his family and may Jose RIP. I am sure someone with better computer skills can post the Corpus Christi Caller Times writeup.

RIP Lance Cpl. Jose L. Maldonado. We lost you too soon as many of the others who lost their lives for their country.

Very sad, RIP.

When I saw this on the news, I thought I probably watched him play baseball in high school.:(

We also lost a young man from Orange Grove a couple of weeks ago.

My thoughts and prayers are with both of these families.

He was actually killed in Afghanistan, and was from the same unit as Rusk.
