View Full Version : Your Team's Toughest Loss This Season?

For the Bulls, I think it would be Mineral Wells. We lost in OT on a pick6 when we were inside the 15 and going for the win. That loss cost us the 7-3A district title. Of course, the Brownwood loss knocked us out of the playoffs, but the Bulls were the underdog in that one, and we did put up 31 on the Lions, but gave up 61.

The Bulls will return a lot of players next season, and should again play their brand of exciting football.

Heck, I tried to keep you playing, P4S...:D Remember when I went up on the WC-Sinton thread after Sinton had lost and wished Sinton good luck next week in the playoffs? As Phil C might say--"I am so ashamed." :D

Ours was the West lost. Its a game we could have won and didnt play our best. It also kept us out of the playoffs for the first time since 05.

14-13 loss to Lorena. Kept us out of the playoff for the first time since 1998.

Bullaholic, I would disagree, I think the game that may have hurt us more was the loss to Alvarado.

Not arguing, but tell me why you think so---Alvarado was a non-district regular season loss.

We were rolling and it simply took the air out of the boys in which IMO it took a few weeks to get it back. Then of course the loss to MW didn't help.

Our loss to Raymondville. The ejection of our kicker, Jesus Guerrero, was very costly to us. Had to go for two after our TD and we had to attempt two 4th down conversions, which we were unable to convert, when we were within his range.(He had two successful 47 yarders)

Our playoff loss to Alvarado hurt. I really believe we could have went 2 more rounds deep if we had won that one. But we return all our skilled players back next year so who knows maybe a district champ repeat?

For me, it's a tie between Tatum and Jacksonville.

Gilmer had a total of 10 turnovers in those 2 games and still had a chance late in each game to win.

Not sure Llano really had one, though if I had to identify one it would be the LH game (24-31) because it was in-district and they hung tough on the road but fell just a little short.

But while losing always stinks, it's easier to take when you can be honest with yourself and accept that the better team won on that night. And each time the Jackets lost, I can say that the better team won. So no real kicks in the gut here.

At the time, I would have said Carthage but I do agree with you now...a loss to a SC team is not all bad especially when you beat 2 other SCs.

Liberty Hill's bi-district loss to Navarro 21-20. Instead of kicking the extra point to tie the game and going to OT, we went for 2 and came up short, ending LH's season.

I say those 2 because they were games we could have and SHOULD have won.

It was obvious that Carthage and Argyle were just that much better than us.

For sealy its hard to say, the "loss" to wimberly on the controversial two point conversion at the end of the game was really tough and losing in the first round is always tough

Agreed. That loss to Alvarado was just a hard hitting game from the first minute to last. Those boys came to play and it did take the air out of us.

MW was a tough loss, but you could "see" it coming in the second half.

Either way, mega proud of the boys and especially how scrappy they were on Brownwood.
