Congrats to the the DAWGS. That was one hell of a game to watch. Especially eye level to the bottom of the giant tv. Sometimes I caught myself watching it instead of the game on the field.

Also, glad to finally meet G2, DDbooger, emerson1 and coach. Hope we can do it again.

Congratulations to the Carthage Bulldogs!!! What a tremendous tradition and super accomplishment to win 3 in a row. At the start of the year, I thought they would have a little drop off this year and not make the big game, but they gelled and proved that with talent, coaching, determination, and even a little luck at the right time, the best rise to the top.

Man what a game......

I kept saying that balanced is the key. Load up for the run, they'll burn with the passing. Drop back for the pass and they'll eat you alive with the run. Coldspring had one of the best run defenses Carthage had seen all season. They are very stout against the run. Carthage made the halftime adjustments that were necessary to slow down the run in the second half. This game was won on forcing turnovers and not letting Coldspring have a bunch of manageable 3rd downs in the second half.


Coldspring fans - you folks have a great group of kids. They fought to the bitter end and played with a passion. Even when defeat was inevitable, they 'kept swinging'. If I were to assemble an all star team and get to coach them for one game, I'd make a few calls to Coldspring ISD and add some kids to the roster. Great group of kids and a fine football team.

Congrats Carthage. One HS state title in Texas is hard to achieve, and a 3-peat is just very, very special, and puts Carthage among the greats in Texas HS football history.

Brownwood was everything you said they were. The game was for all intense purposes the state champion ship game with only 2 seconds seperating number one from number 2. I will always pull for East Texas teams against other parts of the state. I hope your team is good again next year so we can go at it. I will leave you with my famous last saying.
