they missed the 2 pt conversion....

on the onsides kick try, poteet recovered it, was called offsides, and on the re-kick, aledo recovered it...

poteet was 1-19 the last two years, brought in a new coach and had basically the same team as last year, they were picked last in the district and made it to the state semi-finals...

The out going senior class(class of 2010) had never won a single football game collectively in their careers. Add to that, their stud QB(Nowles) was hurt last year in a preseason scrimmage and never played a down, and you have a better picture as to why the last two years were so bad for the Pirates. But, it's hard to get the stink from 1-19 off of you, and Jackson and co obviously found a way to do that.
