If you had seen them dismantle Athens last week you would not have been very surprised. That RB Gilbert is in a class by himself.

I doubted that Wimberly would have an answer for CS speed, quickness, or aggressiveness. But still, Wimberly played hard and put some suspense in the game at the end.

They ceratinly did, LHPM. They had us by the collar the entire night. We couldnt get anything rolling at all. Defensively, we regrouped and stopped the hemmoraging...but nothing but spotty performance on offense. Coldspring was just too good.

As I predicted, Wimberley got "out-athleted". Speed kills and it killed the Texans. That Trojan defense was one of the smallest and quickest I've seen in 3a.

I would agree they had more athletes than we did...but we were able to stop the bleeding, and we had a chance to climb back in. We just couldnt get it done in the passing game. But yes, this Coldspring teams is VERY talented.

You guys had a great season and there's nothing for them to hang their heads about! A season-ending loss is never easy & is roughest on the seniors, but most of the rest of the teams in the state would've loved to have been in your shoes. I've no doubt Wimberley will be in the mix next season and we await our turn to prove "we are better than you". ;)

We also got outcoached.The play calling was not what we are accustomed to seeing from our coaches.Of course the coldspring defense was shutting down almost everything we were trying.We had several dropped passes,missed opportunities to recover fumbles,poor throws and decision making by lambert.I was especially dissapointed with Blakemore's attitude and unsportsmanlike penalties and play.He was running his mouth all night.Cheap shotting #1.
Ok I'm done ranting.Congrats Trojans on the victory and Wimberley on getting to the semis for the 3rd time in history.

Not much at all. Maybe 4 or 5 on offense...got the ball 2 times I think. And maybe 1/4 time on defense. A total non-factor.

On your list of Wimberley accomplishments you left out the year 2000 which the Texans had the 1st undefeated regular season in Wimberley history and ended up Bi-District Champs and 11-1. The QB was Aaron Polanco.
