Those Bulldogs are some physical gentlemen. Their OL simply dominated. Being an OL guy, when I saw their left OT pull and block the playside CB, I knew this is was gonna be a fun game! They've got weapons across the board. The better team definately won tonight. Shouldn't have been as close as it was. Jaxon Shipley is an electrifying player. Kept this game close damned near by himself.
Something I dont understand. We've heard all season how dominating Bwood was and how they were the best team in 3a(I believed that myself). So how is it that Carthage has won 2 in a row, probably about to win their 3rd, are as good as what I saw tonight, and yet they've made such little news?

Carthage incredible will !!!! To be able to do this for the 3rd time possibly if they win next week. Its so hard to win a state title as Brownwood just found out so I tip my hat to Carthage Program the Best 3A program in the State of Texas hands down right now.

Bob Shipley & Brad McCoy have never won a title have gotten to the title game with there programs but have not won it all incredible stat there, just shows the State how hard it really is to win it all.

1) It was hard to hear about anyone else because Brownwood homies were vicious this year...and modest.
2)East Texas Speed...too much hype...nada...you saw 'em tonight.
3) Without Shipley...I'll stop there.
4)Henderson, our Dist, 16 bretheren became Div. 1 State Champs tonight defeating Chapel Hill (Located 26 miles from Henderson).
5)East Texas Football is different...we kick a$$ and take names.

Why are you calling me out? Being from East Texas didn't win you the game. Making a couple more plays than us won the game.

As for Shipley, he is an incredible talent and we will miss what he gave us fans. If every team had to take away their best player, they would all suffer. This is FACT. But he wasn't alone on this team and I'm proud of every single player that wore the Brownwood jersey this season.

It's called being behind the Pine Curtain nowhere near the Dallas and Houston media markets. You can actually see more highlights of Carthage on one of the Shreveport stations than you do on the Tyler-Longview ones.

If ur talking about on here..well still not a ton of East Texas folks on here...if you meant statewide..well one reason is in two of the 3 seasons they had losses..so they are not on some amazing winning streak

Also..honestly how many 3A teams REALLY get press? Even Brownwood..not like DMN, Houston paper, SA paper and so on were doing articles on them..just the nature of the beast..one of the reasons Grant and I LOVE doing a 3A only show

I agree that the media only get out so often/only so far to see teams. They rely on a bunch of stats and scores against different competition and basically don't have a clue.

I picked up a Waco newspaper on the way to the game and every sportswriter had Brownwood winning big; one of them predicting 40-14. They had likely seen BW play (maybe), but I can't imagine they had seen Carthage, so no frame of reference.

I don't know; if Carthage wins their third SC in a row, maybe a few folks will put them in the top five of their year-end "power rankings"? Tongue-in-cheek of course, because none of the lists and rankings matter; it only matters who ends up with the
ring(s).

17 playoff wins in a row is not an amazing winning streak to you? 43 wins and 4 losses since 2008. A 92% winning percentage is not an AMAZING WINNING streak? Man who do you give coverage to? 31 game winning streak is not amazing? Wow. See...Even the 'media' has no clue about us.

The truth is Carthage is too close to Louisiana. The FCC has declared us and everyone over here too close to be Louisiana to be in the 'Shreveport Media Market' and thereby stripping us of Statehood in the media. Our local channels on Satellite are Louisiana stations. I have fired off many p-o'd emails both to the FCC and the Television Stations AND the Satellite companies to no avail and no response as of yet. It is my goal to get us put back in Texas.

I never said it was not a great streak..I said OTHERS are not interested since in 2 of the 3 seasons Carthage had two losses.
