The Gainesville Leopards defeated Pottsboro 47-6 to finish the regular season with a 10-0 record for the first time since 1980.

Gainesville had 372 yards of total offense to just 51 for Pottsboro. The game was played in a steady drizzle and cold temperatures.

Even though usual starting quarterback Chris Brown did not play, the GHS offense didn't have much trouble moving the ball. Terrius Purvey rushed for 132 yards and scored three touchdowns. Backup quarterback Luke Smallwood had over 130 yards passing and threw two touchdowns to Darcel McBath.

Pottsboro's only touchdown came after the Leopards fumbled a punt at their own 11-yard line.

Gainesville will take on Paris North Lamar in the bi-district round of the Class 3A Division I playoffs. That game will be played Nov. 14 at Wylie.
