30 years ago Howard Cosell announced to the world that Lennon died. Seems unfathomable today in the world of 24 hour news and social networks that the information was broken on Monday Night Football.
On a side note, was Don Meredith in the broadcast booth that night? I know he was with MNF at the time, but I can't get clarification that he was there. Fran Tarkington was also a part of the broadcast team at that time. Maybe it was Fran's game that night.
