How many 3ADL posters are currently in, or have had, broadcast, or electronic or printed media experience? Even announcing games? Seems like we have quite a few.

Me. I used to announce our track meets and keep stats for the announcers at games. Not really what I call announcing though. But what I did was fun.

Who decides which station or broadcast team calls a game? How about teams without contracts?

all depends on stations in that town's area..if no contract then they are up for grabs..someties by regional radio stations and websites and sometimes byt state ones

I think the UIL has to grant a contract to do a state title game right?

not really..u just have to agree to run the commericals the UIL provided( from TSRN)..other than that the UIL does not care unless a conflict arises( two stations or sites saying they have the rights) then it goes to whichever one the school says is there broadcast OR if enough space UIL wont care as long as agian the proper commercials are run

That would actually be pretty cool. I know there is a Buffalo Wild Wings within walking distance and a Hooters right near it. BWW is always up for hosting stupid things like this and they provide free wi-fi.

A couple of us have talked about it, Matt---guess we ought to put a thread up requesting Arlington M&G lunch sites, and then put a poll up with the best suggestions, and go with the winner. It would be great if we could find a place that would put seating together for 30-40 or so, or even provide a private meeting room at no charge for a guaranteed minimum no. of diners.

I agree. The women I have met seem to be pretty much what I expected from reading their posts. A lot (not all but most) of the men I have met are very quiet and act shy in person. I'm not sure why that is, but anyway...

Also...back to the thread topic....there is a possiblity that I will get a shot at broadcasting this spring. If I do, then I will be sure NOT to tell any of you, because I don't think I could handle the criticism!! ;)

My media experience is limited to the Accounting side - worked for a newspaper for close to 12 years and an ad agency for about the same length.

I know the smack and nonsense gets pretty heavy on here from time-to-time, but how come we don't hear from a guy with your pedigree more on some of the game discussions?
