NFL playoff scenario

Ok, I know what you will say but me and my son were talking about the Cowboys very slim chances to make the playoffs.
Now the funny thing is the cowboys, of course it would take a miracle, could still win the nfc east.
Dallas has five games left, they win out and are 8-8
That includes two games against the eagles.
Now the eagles would have to lose there last four making them 8-8. With that dallas would be winner with head to head tie breaker
Now Giants must beat eagles and then lose out.
I am telling him that its not possible to win the division at 8-8. but am I wrong? Did I miss anything?
Is this scenario possible, even though its not practical?
what are your thoughts? need help proving son wrong:D
