I had to laugh when I read that. Midland is well known for not having any strip clubs, heck, we aren't even allowed to have a HOOTER'S in Midland because of our city ordinance. But we DO pretty much have a Church on every corner.

West: pickup trucks!
East: luxury cars
West: Mexican border, border wars, Falcon Res, Amistad, Rio Grande, New Mexico border
East: Louisiana border, Toledo Bend, ho hum
West: Texas flag
East: Home decorator flags
West: Skies with beautiful stars
East: Lots of city lights - limited view of stars
West: broke down - someone will stop and help
East: broke down - call AAA sucker!
West: Food: lots of Mom & Pop
East: Food: welcome to the franchise
West: Great football coaches
East: Great football coaches that were lured from the West $$$
West: Brownwood Lions!
East: Carthage Bulldogs

I always thought East was totally different from West, with West being the Best, but I lived in the East on 9/11/01, and I am proud to say, pickup trucks, cars, and everybody was running up and down the interstate waving the National Flag like they were West Texas rednecks. Moral to this story: Don't mess with Texas and Don't mess with the USA. We know when to be ONE.

I am extremely happy being a West Texas girl. I appreciate water and trees more since there isn't much of that here. It's a nice half day drive to Ruidoso too...can't beat that!!

I think the biggest differance in West Texas and East Texas is not so much the speed but the number of talented atheletes. They reload in East Texas and it takes a special class at West Texas schools. At the state game last year the speed of Carthage did shock Graham the first half, but as the Game went on dicapline and better fundamental play showed for Graham.Carthage and Graham lost about the same amount and look where they are and where Graham is.Next year it whouldnt surprise me for B-Wood not to make the playoffs and Carthage to be right back in it till the end.

Really? Says who? Not sure where the perception that East Texas does not play sound disciplined techinque football comes from.

I think the list of State Title winners in just 3A alone from East Texas since 2002 shows they play sound football( then throw in 1A 2A and 4A)
