It is just less than 100 miles from Carthage to Athens. If you make that drive you will pass right through Chapel Hill and Henderson. That is 1/4 of the 3A playoff teams left on 12/2/2010!

that is impressive good football in east texas I am from west columbia and we are 30 to 45 minutes from Katy,North Shore, and Pearland some pretty good football here in the houston area also

Since Region 2 and 3 mostly cover ET, I would bet that you could say that every year...

Sad thing about speed is that if those speedsters get popped once or twice, they tend to slow down a notch the rest of the game. Carthage had a great thing the last few years in that O-Line. Gave their skill players a chance to get going without taking one in the mouth.

I'd say that is pretty impressive. I wish we were playing at the Rose but will drive 4 hrs to watch the Yellow Dogs any day.

It is the nature of the Regions.

Four teams, 2 Districts, 100 miles, Semi/Quarter Finals. That does not happen every year.
