4A Bracket is 1990's Deja vu

I hadn't been paying attention apparently but the remaining 4A playoff contenders are very reminiscent of the 1990's

LaMarque and Calallen are one win away from a 6th semifinal matchup between the two (LaMarque is 5-0)

LaMarque and Stephenville are two wins away from a 4th state finals matchup between the two (Stephenville is 3-0)

I'd love to see either or both of those games happen, no offense to the other contenders.

Only if Denison could ever get anything going again. It would be nice.

Sweetwater won 40 regular season games in a row in the 90's. Unfortunately, Denison and
Stephenville were in Region I too. The one year we only lost to Stephenville 7-0, they went on
to get killed by LaMarque in the SC I believe.

The one main difference this year as opposed to the 90's is that this year it's somewhat surprising that all 3 are still playing.

In the 90's getting to the region finals was almost a foregone conclusion for all of them.

That last year of the run of 10-0 seasons ended at the hands of Denison crushing us and then getting beat badly by LaMarque if I'm not mistaken.

The 7-0 game with Sweetwater happened in 97. We got smoked by Denison in the Qtrs 44-17. La Marque beat Denison in the SC 95,96,97.

Denison knocked Stephenville out 95,96,97. FYI.

I'm pretty sure WO-S is the only current 3A program that can say they've beaten both of you at least once... :D
