How many teams made huge turnarounds as far as the number of wins this year compared to last year? It can be negative as well.

West Columbia had a big turn around, I do not know the exact numbers but it was big.

West Columbia went from back to back 2-8 seasons to 12-1. Great job by those coaches and kids!

Same sad thing that always happens.

2004, HC reassigned after 6-4 season and missing playoffs by one game. This after turning around program that went through 0-24 stretch over previous three years.

2006, HC is reassigned after leading team to playoffs in second year at helm after five year absence from postseason.

2009, HC is reassigned following back to back 7-3 and 9-1 seasons. Team was 2nd and 1st in district and lost by a point to regional semifinalist in 09. Won school's first district title in 11 years, beat two rivals in same year for first time in 11 yrs as well.

Makes me wonder what the program would be capable of with any kind of stability at HC/AD position.

Oh, current AD/HC has also been suspended.

Pottsboro (2A) went from 13-2 state semifinalist in 2008, to 1-9 last year, to 10-2 this year.

14-1, 4-5 :( , 8-3

It's the first yo-yo we've had since I've been in LH (1995). Before 2001, it was a couple-a bunch. :(

Gilmer:

2006 - (10-1, 5-0)
2007 - (14-1, 5-0) State Finalist
2008 - (12-2, 5-0)
2009 - (15-0, 5-0) State Champion
2010 - (9-4, 4-1)

The -6 drop from 2009 to 2010 ties for the largest drop since 2000. In 2004, Gilmer went 16-0 en route to a state championship and went 10-2 in 2005.

I don't think that really qualifies. Most teams would kill for 12 games in a year, and ten wins at that. A six game drop would be bad for most but nine wins and 13 games in a season is nothing to sneeze at.

Trust me, I'm not complaining about that at all.

It really has been a fun ride that hopefully won't end anytime soon. With our coaching staff and some of the talent that is about to reach high school, it doesn't look like its going to.

Winning is really contagious and can spoil you pretty quickly, huh? ;)

I think West Columbia's turnaround was sweet.
