Good to see SLC still in the mix. Read they were a little down this year.

I was there and can only say :ack!: . Horn was a good team, but I didn't think they were that much better than Leander.

And how has the UIL not stepped in already? I thought for sure they would do whatever to keep as much money as possible in their pockets...now the money is headed for those casino floors lol

Denton Guyer won the matchup in the regular season at Dragon Stadium. It ended SLC's consecutive home winning streak which I think was up close to 50 games, if I'm not mistaken (which I probably am).

Horn is a REALLY talented team. Playmakers all over the field and a big defense that can run to the ball and make plays. I like them to beat Longview too. Horn lost 13-8 to the Lobos in the regular season but they were without their star QB Colin Strahan (who played at Nevada Community last year) and were playing a freshman QB.

Horn and Longview flipped for home-home neutral. Horn picked SMU's Ford Stadium and Longview picked the Indy Bowl.

Obviously, Longview won the coin flip.

I have to disagree, Horn dominated this game in every aspect...Leander was only in it because of a big KO return and a pick six..Horn moved up and down the field...Leander had no answers for that Horn offense

Disagree if you want. :p I said they were good. And I also saw Leander shoot themselves in the foot a few times. If Leander had won, we might've stayed for part of the Longview/Tomball game. If you were there, you should've hollered at me.

Was in the pressbox, I just didn't see much shooting in the foot from Leander except for the poor tackling on the punt return..but you aren't winning many games when you allow 450 yards of offense and a punt return for a score. This was just a case of a more talented team asserting their will in the second half...was quite impressed with the early halftime adjustment Leander made to find #15 over the middle a couple of times...but Horn's coaching staff made their own adjustment after that...

Horn's talent is really really good..they've got what 8 D1 kids?

Something close to that number. You can also never underestimate a Rodney Webb coached team. He has been a winner virtually every place he's been and he knows exactly how to use all of the weapons Horn has. Strahan, Sheppard, and Grant are all very talented but Webb gets them to mesh together so well that their "NASCAR" offense is virtually untouchable.

I listened to the game since I went out to Cowboys Stadium to broadcast for Poteet, but it sounded to me that the Leander defense was powerless to stop Horn's attack.
