Argyle is way better than Gilmer at this point overall. The refs arnt helping Gilmer any, but I don't think Gilmer could beat them anyway. Argyle can move the ball up and down the feild Gilmer is having to work alot harder.

Seems like Gilmer is having to force things and losing the ball. If Gilmer adjusts well at the half, does it look like they could make a game of it in the 2nd?

The score is misleading Argyle has controlled this game all the way.

#77 is getting beat every snap and is grabbing the defender with 1 hand on the front number and the other on the back numbers and nothing is being called.

And on the last play before the half, Jeff called a time out and the ref signaled to stop the clock. At that point I look up to see the clock just turn from 2 to 1 and watch the 1 turn to 0 and they signal that its the end of the half.

Now I am in no way, shape or form saying that the refs are costing Gilmer the game because they aren't, turnovers are, but they are severely screwing us over.

That's is exactly right in a nut shell #75 has been holding the entire game and they arnt calling it.

The score isnt misleading in my eyes.

Argyle has been able to move the ball but stalls deep in Gilmer territory. They lone TD came off of a broken pass play where their WR just got passed our DB and Aune made a great play.

Argyle's other 2 scores came off of 25-yard + field goals. At best, Argyle should have 3 more points.

Gilmer's offense is having to work A LOT harder to move the ball but have been able to do so. I say Gilmer should have between 3 - 10 points more than they do, at best.

But it is what it is. Gilmer has struggled on offense and turned the ball over twice. Argyle has been able to pass pretty easily through the air.

Hopefully Gilmer will come out more focused and crisp and get something going. Otherwise, its going to be a long 2nd half.

Gilmer just flat out got our butts beat the 2nd half.

Argyle is a REALLY good team. They play hard and get things done. They did a great job of tackling and containing Gilmer's receivers. I don't think we ever got into any open field.

Not really...Bwood has more explosive players at WR..Argyle has a better O-Line..Bwood has a better overall QB..Argyle a better RB

defense front, Argyle is bigger, Bwood a little quicker..secondary..Argyle has some studs back there

IMO Bwood is faster overall, but Argyle has speed at key places

I find it amusing that as soon as a team gets dismantled by another they begin to rally around someone else. (Got our butts whipped so Carthage must be better than Argyle mentality). Lets just get the facts of this game straight first. Argyle completely dominated from the beginning of the game. Whine about the calls all you want (holding on every play) or whatever makes you sleep better tonight. The fact is that this game was completely dominated by Argyles offense and the outstanding play of their QB and O-line. 13 games and no sacks allowed by Argyle says alot about the Oline and QB. QB is awesome under pressure and Oline is simply dominant. Im sure Carthage will present another test for the Eagles, but anyone at the game would be foolish to say that the Eagles were just simply the BETTER team. Oh yea. For the East Texas speed factor. Get some game film and watch the Argyle Eagles run away from all that speed. Just sayin. As fro the holding on every play? Really. It aint chetain if you dont get caught. Any good team has an O-Line that is a bunch of cheaters when you are getting your butt whipped. Congrats to Gilmer on a great run and good luck to Carthage next week.

Our closest game is a 29 point win. I don't care if our defense is terrible or our offense is that good. We are dominating so far so I like our chances. We very well could lose to any team left in the playoffs. Every team is good now, we get it. I'll pick Brownwood every week, regardless of opponent.

....all I can say is that "it will come to you about our defense".....Its easy to have a sense of comfort when you are judging our D on blowouts.....

I'm assuming that atleast some of what you are saying is in response to what I said earlier.

To start, never did I say that Carthage was better than Argyle. And if you read that post, the only reason I'm not completely pulling for Argyle is because they are playing a fellow district member.

Second, there were SEVERAL holds that weren't called in the 1st half. Doesn't matter if we were up by 50 or down by 50. Argyle was holding and it wasn't called. But, again, if you read, I also said that in no way, shape or form would change the fact that Gilmer was being out played and wouldn't have made a difference if they were being called.

If you don't want anyone to refer to Argyle as the 'better team' then what would you like us to refer to you as? Would you like us to kneel in your presence and call you the greatest to ever play the game? Not going to happen.

Enjoy the fact that you won the game and kicked our butts doing it. No one from Gilmer has made any kind of excuse as to why we lost other than the fact Argyle simply out played Gilmer in every aspect of the game.

I have no dog in this fight, but I have seen Argyle, Brownwood and Gilmer play now. Argyle was the better team today there is no doubt about it. In saying that Argyle has a huge offensive line and they are good, but very slow and yes they held alot and it didn't get called. Either way it wouldn't matter cause Argyle was better. Now as far as Brownwood, Argyle will score on the Brownwood D, but Argyle will not be able to stop Brownwood on offense Brownwood is to good and I hate to say this, but dang near impossible to stop. Again in my IMO Argyle want be able to hang with the Brownwood scoring. I think the Carthage Argyle game will be great and it's a toss up, but I know nothing about Carthage so I'll go with Argyle, but Argyle won't get past Brownwood.

Damn, where do I start. First, this is my 2nd time to see Brownwood play, and I still see the same thing. 2nd...every kid played as long as they were a starter. So I guess they only clear the benches when no one is there to see otherwise. 3rd...OK, bring on the treats. Best offense that I have seen, average defense. 10/4 over and out.

I understand what ur saying..BUT when other Bwood fans are touting how they have scored so many points in the play offs and will score 60 on anyone, then Bwood does not do it then folks are going to comment on it

We had an off night. We still won the game by 29. I don't care if it was the cold, too much turkey, or because Billy Joe changed his lucky underwear. Our starters came out early in the 4thQ. We could have easily scored 2 more tds, easily. If you didn't see our backups play, you left very early.

Brownwood is still playing boys and girls. Deal with it.

Argyle is a REALLY good team. They play hard and get things done. They did a great job of tackling and containing Gilmer's receivers. I don't think we ever got into any open field.

To start, never did I say that Carthage was better than Argyle. And if you read that post, the only reason I'm not completely pulling for Argyle is because they are playing a fellow district member.

Second, there were SEVERAL holds that weren't called in the 1st half. Doesn't matter if we were up by 50 or down by 50. Argyle was holding and it wasn't called. But, again, if you read, I also said that in no way, shape or form would change the fact that Gilmer was being out played and wouldn't have made a difference if they were being called.

If you don't want anyone to refer to Argyle as the 'better team' then what would you like us to refer to you as? Would you like us to kneel in your presence and call you the greatest to ever play the game? Not going to happen.

Enjoy the fact that you won the game and kicked our butts doing it. No one from Gilmer has made any kind of excuse as to why we lost other than the fact Argyle simply out played Gilmer in every aspect of the game.
