I saw two interesting games tonight......Bridge City scored 17 runs on 9 hits in one inning. Coach Sam Moore tried to stop the scoring finally at 12 points by not advancing runners; however, they would just load the bases and then knock good hits. Does any one know if that's a playoff record? Sam then sent in his 4 freshmen and 5 Soph's that had been moved up---who played Sealy a good game for the remainding 3 innings. BC plays Barber's Hill in a one game shoot out next week.............We stopped and watched Buna beat Sweeny in Baytown on the way home 3-1 Chase Tucker is a great pitcher......Since the other half of the bracket for Region III, that Buna is in, containes no strong teams, look for Buna to go the the Regional final game with ease. That could well place the 21-3A Runnerup-Buna against the Dist. winner Bridge City for the Regional Championship game!......BC's 9th graders and JV were really tough against Sealy-both of these teams have 10-run ruled most all their opponents all year long.

You know Matt 328, ole Sam Moore is quite a character at BC. He has lost 6 games to big 4-A and Louisiana's top big schools- that are successful playoff teams- yet LUTHER SANDERS his ACE is UNDEFEATED. He also beat most of the same teams with his #1 & #2 pitchers on other occasions. Sam has been pitching his #3,#4, #5 etc: and using the best big non-district teams around to work his defense. His Offense is strong and quite reliable. Nine hits last night in the second quarter and then nine hits out of his subs in three innings-HE PLAYED ALL 24 that he carried down there!.....I can't wait for them to destroy Lorena, the #1 Team in 3A ratings. Sam has been mothballing, staying out of the pollisters spotlight and it's starting to show here in the playoffs that they are a dominate program. The rumor is out that Sam is going to LCM next year....Boy some lucky Coach will inherit a great mature program down here..... Buna is very good, they face and emerging Hamshire-Fannett team next week, after that its a clear sail to the Region III finals- China Spring, Crockett, Lufkin Hudson and Taylor have not chosen to face the tougher competitors....
