Looks like the cream rises to the top quicker in 3A than any other division. Is that a sign of better competition or the other way around?

really its more to do with how many teams get in the playoffs in each division ... only 3 in 3A (D-I + D-II) ...4 in all others

After this week, 3A won't have a 4 loss team playing.

OK, I just took a quick look at the 2a division 1 bracket. WTH is that? Why are there so many byes and why are there only 4 districts in each region?

Confusing....and it also gives the teams with byes a tremendous advantage....all but 4 advanced to the regionals.

Can anyone explain the logic?

stephenville's losses came to:

@ 4a #1 aledo
@ 3a #1 brownwood
still playing in 5a mesquite horn
ranked at the time in 5a lewisville hebron
@ 4a #8 waco midway*

*district game

not exactly a celina-esqe schedule....

Can anyone explain the logic? They broke up the districts into big schools and small schools instead of working it out after the season was over, hence D1 and D2. I think that made for all district champions to get a first round bye. I don't like it either. Some bi-district games had teams playing that were half way across the state:doh:

Thanks Aussie.....you know if they did it name of fairness....I think they really missed the mark...because the teams with the byes (apparently) have a huge advantage...winning all but 4 games up to this point. I think that the smaller schools, overall, would have done just fine against the bigger ones....heck, they wouldn't have done any worse that he teams without byes.

its what the schools wanted ..... they were the ones who voted to go this way

I think its a mix....because, at first glance, overall, 3a didn't play as many 4a programs, as 4a played 5a or 2a played 3a.
