Tough break. He caught a lot of flack from RF folk after the season-ending loss to Mathis. He did pretty well for the program, in my opinion. They went from cellar dwellers to making the playoffs, though their return to 3A has not been as successful as they would have hoped.

tough for him.. If I recall, several teams have come down to 3A from 4A and found it much harder than they thought..

I think Grover did a good job while here in Bandera as the AD. For what ever reasons, it just never seemed to equate to a great win/loss record in the football program. He had a tough act to follow in 2003 after the state championship, plus playing teams like Burnet, Wimberley, Liberty Hill, and Cuero made for a difficult road to winning.

Just his luck to get stuck in the same district with Sinton, Ingleside, and Mathis. They didn't fare all that well in 4A, not sure how they were supposed to magically rule 3A. Not a very realistic expectation in my opinion.
