Rocket will come up with another off-the-wall theory as to why Haven High's accomplishment pales in comparison to the '10 Bwd team ...

Why bring us in to every topic?

Why doesn't your team try and beat that?

"We just sat down," Glen Gaston said. "We let them score, then we would kick off and sit right back down again."

1927 was a year of many records. Waco High still holds the record for most points scored in a Texas High School Football Playoff game...124-0 over Houston Davis. Waco scored more than 100 points 8 times in a single game in the below 7 seasons, winning 4 state titles in 6 years

That 1923 season had to hurt... they had only 3 points scored against them the entire season and it was in a 0-3 loss to Abilene in the State Championship.

Two things jump out at me -- first is the tie that was replayed, and the second is the loss to Beaumont that turned around and forfeited and gave them the chance to win the state title that year.

This doesn't come close to that but I remember my alma mater Freer was in 2A in 1959 and we played Corpus Christi Academy in Freer and got ahead by the second quarter 28 to 0 and that was a big lead then. We played second stringers and third stringers and they still couldn't stop us. At halftime we called the B team (today's freshmen and JV players) players to suit up over the loud speaker and had them suit up and play the third quarter and they still couldn't stop us. At the end of the third quarter we had a 53 to 0 lead and they quit and forfeited the game 1-0. They said they would never play us again and they didn't. To this date Freer doesn't list that as a victory.
