Yeah but no one runs it like us and the old Mojo. We invented this thing in the west since ther early 80's tottally diffrent stuff from the Loboes and the rest. Our blocking scheme is very diffrent.

Snyder by 28, the Tiger D had a look I haven't seen all year, very proud of them boys.

I went to Frenship tonight and watched Monahans/Dalhart play, they are a good ball team but won't beat the Tigers. You may agree or disagree.

Let me explain it as simple as I can.Monahans already beat Snyder in their own backyard. It's in Snyders head.Monahans does not care if Snyder has Improved or had a tougher schedule. We hear that every year and in the last 5 years we are 5-2 vs Snyder..You dont think Monahans has improved themselves? They are 12-0 they are not just gonna lay down for a team they already beat..Some of these kids have not lost a game in a few years and dont know how to loose. You tell the 12-0 Loboes that everyone is picking them to loose to a team they alreay beat is going to motivate them even more.Hope everyone picks Schnieder to win but they better bring it bc Coach Owens and the Loboes will be ready to knock some heads!

I do not care about history, this is now. You worry about November 26, 2010. Sorry but your soon to be 12-1, it's coming. Kennedale had MUCH more speed and size and look what Snyder done to them.

That was Kennedale. This is Monahans. Not a true comparison. They may run the same offense and have more so called size and speed, but you cannot compare the heart and intensity with these Loboes.

It will be very tough for monahans to beat Snyder again. I don't care what happened in week 0. That was a loooonnnngggg time ago. Can monahans win? Yes no doubt. Can Snyder win? Yes no doubt. These two teams are very similar in talent and overall ability with the exception being Ward who is a game changer. This will be a battle from start to finish. And monahans proly shouldn't expect that 20 point lead early again. GO LOBOES!!!

The Loboes are well coached and are a great group of kids, they have worked just as hard as anyone else has to be playing the coming week. I stated my opinion which is what this board is for, agree or disagree.

Week zero games mean nothing, especially compared to playoff games. So I put no stock at all in what happened between these two a couple months ago. The Snyder QB is a stud, and will be the main difference in this game. I really think Snyder wins this one by at least 14, prob more.

It's hard to beat a team twice, especially when the first meeting was such a close game. I am sure that both teams have improved since week 0. Which one has improved more, I can't tell you that. We'll have to wait and find out. Obviously, both are good teams. In my opinion, it's going to come down to which team has improved the most and which team will make the fewest mistakes in this rematch. The teams that possess the most character and poise usually win in big games when both are evenly matched. And being that this will be such a big game, I like Monahans to come out on top again in this one. Lot of character in their coaching staff. Wish I could go to this one.

Who knows. Probably a little better than they were the first time. That's all I'm saying.:D

As for Monahans and Snyder... their first game was such a close game that it's basically a coin flip in the rematch. Who's going to commit the fewest mistakes in both team execution and coaching? From what I remember, Monahans made a lot of mistakes towards the end of the first game and still pulled off the W. So basically, Monahans almost beat Monahans.

Better check that memory hollywood, Snyder had 4 turnovers and were down by 22 after the first quarter. Sometimers hitting maybe?

Some people don't understand that Turnovers can also be "Taken". I was at the game as you all were and the Lions defense "Earned" those turnovers as a result of an aggressive defense.

They were generous. When I drove up to the parking lot before the game started (I was the 1st one their even before the band)The score board already read Visitors 22 Home 0.I cant believe they didnt do this for Brownwood or anyone else Im shocked and we feel so special..and then to top it off they let us score 21 more points out of their kind heart..Then when the game was over Thier Coach shook our Coach hand and said quote:Hell I like you.You can come over and date my sister..You talk about the best hospitality in Texas you havnt been to Snyder!

Who-dun-it!!?
11-22-2010, 07:30 PM
Well I think a turnover is just that. A freakin turnover. And it sucks when it doesn't go your way. As for week one, I saw that game too. I wasn't overly impressed with either team. 43-42? It was a game of very little defense. Both offenses looked okay. But not spectacular. Obviously both have gotten better. That is always the case. Friday night will be a great game to say the least, expect the same "hospitality" from the Tigers this time though. As far as the strenght of schedules, Other than Brownwood I think Snyder's schedule was no harder than Monahans'. So the only common opponant they have is each other. How romantic! Looks like once again the fate of these two teams will be decided by each other. I wouldn't have it any other way! To both towns and teams i say, Be safe getting there and back. Other than that Go Tigers!

Let em look ahead and not worry about Snyder or Monahans. It wouldn't the first upset in playoffs history. They still have to beat Borger and I'm pretty sure they looked past them as well.

OK here is my thoughts on this game. Which doesn't mean sqaut to anyone on this board except myself. After watching last Fridays game I was very impressed with Snyders D. #3 had an outstanding game and the little guy at linebacker. The offence couldn't see him and the next thing you know he is in your face or maybe stomach. Also the kickoff of the second half. I have never seen so much english on a football in my life. That ball went 20 yards down the field and curved 10 yards back to the kicking team. I thought I was watching a pool game. Anyways I think Snyder will be to much for Monohans. Their D handled a big fast wing T offence. This will not be same as week 1. I'm going to say Snyder by 21.

Really a talented team, just seemed like after the pick six that some of them gave up.

That ball went 20 yards down the field and curved 10 yards back to the kicking team. I thought I was watching a pool game. Anyways I think Snyder will be to much for Monohans. Their D handled a big fast wing T offence. This will not be same as week 1. I'm going to say Snyder by 21.

That is all!

Kennedale is a run team Avg. 378.3 Rushing yards per game 49.7 passing yards per game.

Monahans Avg. 260.5 Rushing yards per game 130.8 Passing yards per game.

The way Snyders defense handled Kennedale is not a good measuring stick.

Just as with Snyder. Monahans has not givin up many rushing yards.

Kinda funny. The article is touting the secondary of Monahans vs. a run first offense. Dalhart was only averaging 56 passing yards per game. Great job stopping the pass.

Also funny that you call Snyder a one man show. You will see a show on Friday that consists of not only Ward, who is an outstanding player, but some great players around him that make Snyder hard to stop. They are a very balanced offense that can move the ball successfully on the ground as well as in the air. Averaging 209 rushing and 203 passing. While the offense is fun to watch, the defense has improved tenfold - probably the most improved aspect of the Tigers game.

Can't wait for this one...

When did I say Snyder was a one man show.... Hell I know better then that

Just saying that some of the teams Snyder and Monahans have play (not all) were one man shows.

I have looked at both ours teams stats and as long as both ours teams come out hitting on all cylinders it's going be a bad arse game.

Oscar LeRoy: Monahans-Snyder rematch should be as good as the first:

Probably the best game of the week will be Monahans (12-0) against Snyder (10-2) in a Class 3A Division II Regional round playoff game Friday night in San Angelo.

Monahans rolled to a surprising and convincing 32-7 victory over a much bigger Dalhart team, while Snyder disposed of Kennedale 41-7.

The two teams will be meeting for the eighth time in the last six years and only one of those meetings (a 40-14 victory by Snyder in the 2007 area round) resulted in a blowout.

Monahans coach Mickey Owens said both teams have seen each other so much in recent years that he told Snyder coach Chad Rogers that they may not need to exchange game film.

The two teams met in Week 0 in Snyder and Monahans held off a late Tiger rally before winning 43-42. The Loboes jumped out to a 22-0 first quarter lead.

I don’t know if we’ll get the same kind of fireworks in this meeting but it should be a good matchup as both teams are playing good defense, have good quarterbacks in Snyder’s Keenon Ward and Monahans’ Wade Roark, and both run the ball very effectively. One turnover could very be the difference in what may be another nailbiter.

Honostly Snyder folks wheather you like it or not.You are a 1 man Team on Offense not talking bout the the D bc D do win championships.Do you honostly think Snyder would be in round 3 or can beat the Loboes without Ward? It wouldnt even be close and Snyder wouldnt even be here if it wasnt for Ward Period! You would look like the Texas Long Horns do this year without a McCoy or V.Young

This is like saying all monahans has is Roark. Only difference is he is not quite the game changer that ward is. There is not a team left in the playoffs that is a 1 man show. If Monahans can slow down ward and make others beat them they have a good chance. But they are not a 1-man team. Thinking this will get you beat by 30 points

Monahans:

9 out of 15 guys that have carried the ball have scored 1 or more td’s
4 have carried the ball 31 or more times
6 out of 11 have received passes for 1 or more td’s
4 have 7 or more catches.
Stats do not have the Dalhart game added.

Snyder:

8 out of 19 guys that have carried the ball have scored 1 or more td’s
4 have carried the ball 15 or more times
6 out of 10 have received passes for 1 or more td’s
6 have 6 or more catches.

No one has really seen our back up QB because he hasn't been needed. Is he as good as Ward, probably not because he has not been needed, could he have gotten us to this point, possibly. Last time I checked Keenon doesn't do all the blocking, running and receiving and catching. I'll bet Coach Owens isn't looking to stop only one player, I bet he's a better coach than most of the posters on this board.:nerd: :nerd:

I just got home from the game and now I can post more of my thoughts from it....

After snyders first few drives I was getting a little worried because ward wasn't even getting touched until he was 5 or 6 yards downfield and he was just out running our whole defense. I think after we calmed down a little bit we started to control him a little more. Our offense played lights out the whole game. The opening drive of the second half we took it down the field with a 9 minute drive and never looked back. I think the second half once we got up kind of hurt Snyder because they couldn't run ward as much as they wanted too. Ward is a great player but tonight he was having to beat Monahans pretty much by him self and the loboes were built around stopping him. All around the loboes played a good game but are going to have to step it up an even higher level next week to beat brownwood! Great Season Snyder! Goodluck Loboes next week!

Go Loboes!!

Congrats to Monahans on a very well planned and executed game plan. Offensively, they totally dominated up front. Seemed like they got 5-8 yards every time they the ran the ball. Those backs run extremely hard and hit the holes with a lot of speed.

After the game, I thought to myself that they would get spanked by Brownwood next week, but after thinking a bit on the ride home, they might give Brownwood a run for their money. If the line is able to dominate like they did tonight, and the backs runs as they do, it might be possible. The Monahans secondary did play well - but they will need to step it up another notch next week. Good luck - you will need it.

Thanks for the the compliments. Ward is a hell of a player, first game of the season next year should be exciting. Ward will be back and so will both our Fullback and runningback. But like you said, our secondary is going to have to step it up if we want to beat brownwood.

I should have typed it like this:

After I was being a smart arse about the question you had asked of “How many good ones they got?” and then the other poster taking my response the wrong way I looked up the Monahans stats to post, then figured I would look up Snyder stats to post also.

Is that a good thing:) .I know bobcat1 and the rest of Celina will be cheering for the Loboes, you dont want BW to get that 8th do you:D That really wouldn't bother me. I like great teams. If you beat Brownwood this year you will be a great team. Iprobably won't make this game but I should see the winners of this game the following week.

+1 We are going to need a couple of those 9 min drives again for sure vs Brownwood.Keep their O off the field..It's going to be interesting if we can pounded out like we did last night and control the clock BW is gona find themselves in a heck of a game..Styles make fights
