It is tied 7 all early in the first quarter. The weather is cold and they are playing in the snow. The game is being played in Bozeman, Montana where Montana State is located. Excitement indeed.

As a note of interest Montana is the fourth largest state in the United States behind Alaska, Texas and California.

Ironically not much Nate. Considering they are in a large state makes one wonder.

As more interest behind the four states the other top 6 are in order New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon and 10. Wyoming. What is ironic is on population basis Wyoming is the smallest state in the US.

Nate Montana takes the lead 14 to 7 with about 4 minutes left in the first quarter.

I think they are showing it on tv because it is a big rivalry between the two schools since they are in Montana. I don't think either one has ever been to a bowl game but I could be wrong. Still it is nice we are exposed to this rivalry isn't it? They are the Montana Grizzles and the Montana State Bobcats. It is on Fox Sports Alternate right now.

Montana State scores with the first quarter almost over and it is tied at 14 all.

You don't hear much of these schools because they have not been division 1 in years. But they both have had some wins in the past over Utah State and BYU. They didn't make much noise though for their season records.

Yea, I don't think either is a FBS program. When we accepted the bid to the WAC the other day, there was talk about trying to get Montana to also possibly join at some point to make it a 10 team football division

Montana takes the lead 21 to 14 with 9:18 in the second quarter. This is becoming a big shootout.

At the end of the 3rd Quarter it is 21 to 16 in favor of Montana. Montana had a chance to score a td but fumbled to Montana State at the one near the end of the third quarter.

Same score with 6 1/2 minutes left. Montana has first down at their 8. Montana State must stop them to have a last chance.

Montana State has the ball and moving at the Montana 15 with a first down. 2:20 left. Pleanty of time clock shouldn't be a factor.

Montana State now has third and ten. Needs to get a first down for a chance.

Pass incomplete. 4th down coming for last chance 1:28 left. Time still isn't a factor but State must get a first down or td. Ten yards to go.

Incomplete! Montana should win this one now.

Montana has run the clock down but has a fourth and one with 23 seconds so State has a slim chance.

Montana got off a good punt. Time runs out and they win. State had ball on MOntana 35 on a long pass and had a shot. But it was intercepted and game ends.

A good game by both teams in bad weather conditions.

I watched Montana vs. Appalachian St in the FCS playoffs last year...they were playing at Montana and it was snowing. Montana's field is squeezed in between these steep mountains in a place called Dead Man's Canyon or something like that. It was an awesome setting for college football.
