Should be a great match today, believe both have been #1 and #2 all year. Lovejoy looking to defend their championship and Wimberley wants to bring another title back home!!

This is a battle, I think both these teams are 2 of the best in state at any classification and could probably be in the 4a or 5a championship as well.

LoveJoy was just too much for us. Yes, we did not play our best match, but I dont think they did either. With that said, it appeared to me that LJ was just too deep with some incredible talent. I am very proud of our girls, and we will be back!!! Thats 9 appearances in 12 years in the State Tourney, with 6 championships. We are not done yet!

Am I wrong that this is also only your third year to play varsity sports.... if so you are 3 for 3 and that is pretty dang awesome (except for in 08 when you beat my Lady Lions in the finals)

Yes, that is correct. They won in 2008 with no seniors on the team. This year was the first year they had to reload from losing kids to graduation.

You are correct! We also won the all sports trophy. Our X=Country won
State this year, also! Our baseball will probably start out ranked.;)

The numbers turned in for reallignment was 946. I'm not sure where the larger number came in. We will be just where we are now for 1 more year!;) We like pickin' on you little bitty guys!;)

I think if Lovejoy didn't exist Wimberley would have won their 5th straight championsip today but alas, they do and they are very talented.

If I'm not mistaken, this is actually the 4th year of varsity competition for volleyball (3 for football). I think LL made it to the State Finals their first year with only freshman and sophomores and came up short. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

They made it to the regional finals and lost. Monahans and Wimberley met in the state title game, beating White Oak and Columbus, respectively.
