Any idea where the next round game might be played?


Victoria would probably be pretty good for a WC/Somerset, but for a CL matchup, I really don't know. Are there any nice stadiums near Halletsville/Shiner/Gonzalez etc?

That's the last I had heard from one those "big" coaches there at WC, too. Y'all need to play closer to the Austin area than Berry. How 'bout Georgetown?

Waller might be a good site. That's a nice facility they have there now. And Saturday. That way I can possibly make both the Sweeny game and the Columbia game.

Somerset stops Lake on a 4th and goal from the 3. 9min left in game. Score is 24-19 Lake. Don't know about that decision by Lake's coach. If you kick the FG you go up by 8 but what do I know?!??:rolleyes:

I heard the # of stadiums available on Thanksgiving weekend were very limited... with most staff on vacation...
This venue was available and agreed upon by both coaches (from what I hear)


I think victoria was first choice, but they would not host over thanksgiving.

Game we probably should have won. 3 times inside the 10 and come away with no points. Somerset made the adjustments at the half we did not once again for the second week in a row.

Congratulations Somerset it was an exciting game.

Would have put them up by 8. Of course nothing guaranteed on any kick but it would have been a 20 yard attempt. You have got to take the points there and go up by a td and a 2pt conv. Just my opinion.

I think our coach was trying for the knockout punch. Our kicker is pretty good he had I believe a 35 yarder to end the first half. At least 2 of the attemps would have been not more than an extra point. Certainly thought we should have gone for the field goals. It was a gutsy call and if we had scored a TD we would all be saying how great the coaches decision was. Since we didn't he is going to get the second guesses.

I do understand the "knockout punch" senario and who knows, that may have been the dagger to the heart--just wasn't meant to be I guess. Sorry to hear this CLHdad...we were pulling for you!!! All in all...a successful year over last year. All you can hope for is improvement each year. And thats exactly whats happening in Canyon Lake.

Thanks for the compliments and kind words guys. You are right we hope to improve each year and I think we have done that. Next year we have our entire offense returning and a pretty good JV team that went 10-0 last year, so I am sure some of those guys will make a impact.

Best of luck to Wimberley and Navarro the rest of the way you have represented 26 3A well. Be nice to see a rematch in the Regional Semi finals.
