It is a sloppy game so far.....Kville should be up by 28 with the types of mistakes that LV has made. The last second TD before the half was a downer....but not a backbreaker. If LV can clean up the execution, they can win this game.

i think kville is feeling the effects of not playing any competetion in the past four or five weeks. Vega defense not near as good as several teams kville has faced. Kirbyville just playing flat and not executing. Terrible!!!

Coldspring and WO-S probably the best teams they've faced. They beat Coldspring 20-6, WO-S 28-14.

POTENTIALLY they are looking at a rematch with Coldspring next week then WO-S the week after. They will have quite a gauntlet to run if they pull this one out (which it's looking like they will). Rematches are usually tougher than the first game for the initial winner.

Wow, LV really lost the game as a result of their own mistakes, issues...

First, is it normal for the coaching staff, particularly the offensive coordinator, to be so out of it? It was chaos on the sideline between a few of the coaches. Since I am not from La Vega, I don't know who was who, but, I'm sure one was the OC and maybe the HC. Not getting the plays in and at times, it appeared that the HC was yelling at OC and really showing how unhappy he was.

Okay, to the game. IMO, Kirbyville didn't do anything that would have stopped LV from winning the game. Yes, maybe KV caused LV some miscues, but, I am talking about the lack of not being able to move the ball with the pass, mental mistakes on part of the coaching staff and players, turn overs, etc...I hope I dont get in trouble for this post but, something didn't seem right on the Pirate sideline.

After seeing Kirbyville, they are a fine program. However, a team that can really move the ball on offense will cause the Wildcats some problems.

LV had the MOST yards after contact that i have ever seen in my life. game woulda been ugly had they wrapped up. mental mistakes cost them the dominant win fashion. but LV was playing to win all the way through even though they never broke the at least two possession lead once it was gained. strap up kirbyville. this is a wake up call... this type of game usually sends you to the basketball gym next week. they will be ready come next week.

have heard if coldsprings wins then its a set deal on location being beaumont but not sure which stadium or what day or time.

Congratulation to a good Kirbyville Wildcat team. They earned a hard fought win over La Vega. I thought both teams played hard and acquited themselves well. Many of the offenses struggles came because the defenses for both team are quick and solid. Many of the so-called missed tackles by the defense were because there were some special people carrying the ball. Frederick Ford of Kirbyville and Devin McGowan of La Vega are special runners and have made a lot of people miss tackles this year. I just wanted to give both team and both coaching staffs credit for an entertaining, hard fought and clean contest. Both teams could have won. Kirbyville did and good luck to them in the future rounds.

I didn't say that KV didn't play good (well). All I said that a team that has a good offense will probably give KV all the can handle if the Wildkats played like they did last night. I was at the game and the game was much more closer than the score indicates. Of course, you know that. I am not knocking KV, because, I haven't seen enough of them. I have only heard positive things about the Wildcats all year. But, as an outsider, I have seen better teams on the 3A level. Could it have been a bad game, yes. True enough the Wildcats won the game. As I see it, that's all that matter this time of year.

I like what I saw from KV, not that it matters. But, something tells me that last night wasn't their best performance.
