Shipley basically said on the interview I did for the pre game of Bwood vs All Saints that this Bwood team was better in everyway than his Burnet squads

Jordan as a pure cover corner could lock down Jaxon.

I will let this one stay, since it's actually kind of relevant!

And then what about the other Bwood weapons?

I would take McGee over the Bwood QB.

What good would it have done Bob for him to say his 03 Burnet team was better?

Like Bob said, Jordan's stats were so much different because they had to go to him a lot. It's different with this years Brownwood team. There are so many weapons.

That pretty much sums it up, wouldn't you think?

I think I have already addressed this one here:

'03 Burnet was not just Shipley. They had another legitimate threat at reciever, believe his name was Warner. They had a pretty solid running back too. Their defense was pretty good also. Ty Kuhn could move sideline to sideline as good as any LB I've seen at the 3A level.

2003 Gainesville would beat both

(This is an ad nauseum...and nauseous post) but between 2003 & 2003 teams, they had about 7 (or so) guys play college ball, most D1. Oh and Patrick Miller is probably the RB you're thinking of. And before anybody starts with "D1 talent doesn't mean better team", you're right! But those two teams were loaded with talent, and not just the kids that played in college.

And I agree with whoever said "what do you expect him to say".

No, Patrick Miller's senior year was '02. We played them in both '02 and '03. The running back I'm thinking of was #6, I believe.

I said this on another thread, and Emerson really summed it up best for me... McGee is an NFL QB...the dude brownwood has now isn't.... and who ever said jordan as an 18 year old would lock down jaxon as an 18 year old is correct, then warner would lock down the other guy, then kuhn would maul your brownwood rb's every play and that's all she wrote:D

Come on with the come on! Wasn't the average playoff win 20+ points and the most an offense scored about 20 on them that year?

I could check...but, that means work. Teams of old are like fishin stories. The stories get better each time you tell them.

Opponents 12.6

Most points scored 70 versus Gatesville
Most points given up 35 versus Cuero

I would say Bob Shipley knows both of these teams better than all you people that think you do. I bet Bob would pick the 2010 Lions...and I will try and get that confirmed. Soon...

Now this is a better comparision than the dangerfield thing. Two very high powered offenses that will eventually met their match!!

There is no winning with you (and others) that use convenient cynicism. on one hand, you could say "of course, he (Shipley)would say that BWD is better"....yet, on the other, he COULD have said...."Nope Burnet was better....this BWD team has a long way to go"....using it as a motivating factor.....both secnarios COULD be viewed as blowing smoke...

I choose to look at it in the most logical way.....taking him Shipley at his word. Think about it, what does he have to gain by telling his team that they are the best that he has ever coached afthe week 5....even before district starts....unless it were true?
