Game in Humble next Friday and it should be a hell of a game... Coldspring is coming off of a dominating win over Bridge City and Columbus got through a barn burner with Rockdale... I have to go with C-Town on this one cuz they are playing great football and will build off of the win over Rockdale... Columbus by 3... What does everyone else think???

If Coldspring sticks to do things that they do well on offense, I like the Trojans by 14.

Columbus proved the other night that they have the heart of a lion. The two teams were evenly matched talent wise, but Rockdale had the size. The Cardinals never gave up and played a very physical game.
CS best bring their A game because Columbus NEVER leaves theirs at home.
Gonna be a great game for sure.
Columbus by 7.
GO C-TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

columbus is a team that coldspring has a playoff history with....they knocked us out in the first round in 74 & 75.....we beat them in the regionals on the way to the state finals in 92, then they returned the favor and beat us in the regionals in 93, and ours was a good team that year as this year's team is.....

the columbus teams back then didn't enter the playoff game with us with this many losses, they were definitely juggernaut teams....but this history is something i'm sure the coaches are gonna use to motivate the boys to concentrate on this week....

my concern, above injuries, is that the trojans are looking past this game hoping for another shot at k'ville next round...they didn't have sherman gilbert, their fastest back, for that game and had not made the switch from tevin bryant at rb (last year's hero against wo-s) to cody cummings....having played k'ville their closest game and fewest points this season, they just think they've got the tools for them....

but if they minimize columbus all of that won't matter....i sure would like to be there, but i wish everyone a good game.....bridge city's only td last week was a fluke 91 yd td where a bc pass bounced off the helmet of the trojan defender...all to say our defense held a bc offense that put 31 on k'ville to 0 td's....i like our offense, especially with weather getting worse, but i like our defense better....

coldspring by 10.....

Columbus had 3 starters out and like 5 turnovers.... The team that beat rockdale would beat yoakum 60-0
P.s. They lost by 1 on the prettiest thrown fade u have ever seen and missed a field goal with 5 seconds left

The Cardinals have improved 125% since Yoakum and Gonzales game. They did have a very rusty start. But now they are rolling and the O and D are very strong and very quick.
Gonna send the Trojans packing with a hard fought win by 7.
Gonna be WING WHIPPING time in Humble tonight!!!!!!!!!!!

When the player went down, several Tojans hit a knee and circled player before whistle blew. Coldspring show class during and after injuree. Heard the laughing too, but everybody got theirs. Good luck Trojans! By the way is number 65 human. Heard he is only a soph. Too much fertilizer.

you know, we come from an overall weak district and having lost a strong 3 year starter at qb, it was really hit and miss on whether we could be good so i haven't been big about tooting our horn about what kind of team we had, but several thing appeared obvious after a year and two playoff games....

1) our loss to k'ville was a statistical draw with us having two turnovers on our end that led to their two tds....combine that with the fact that we didn't have gilbert who ran so hard last night, and cummings was behind last years starter in the lineup, and we look like a different team than what faced them the first of the year (and this after playing them the closest game they had all year)....

2) our defense has almost everyone back from a team that went three levels deep last year....we lost by 4 and ended the first half and second half on the one yard lines so that game was extremely winnable....#65 wilson is 6'7", 270 and committed to uh....two guys on our d line might be faster than anyone on the team except the fastest backs....

3) these kids have just taken coach barbay under their wings....for those that have not known him, i've known him for four years now and might have heard 3 words from him, he just personifies the no nonsense, old school football coach (i.e. ed peveto) and after his father's death when he didn't reveal much hurt, the leaders on this team have united hard....its a tremendous remindful thing for us of the 92 team that i've bored everyone out here with....

k'ville might beat us again....i know if we start the game with 5 offsides penalties like last night they'll hand us our lunch with a grin....but if they do, they'll be beating a different team than they beat the first time....

columbus has nothing to be down about, they still have a winning record against us and, i think, surprised the world by making the playoffs period....nobody thinks they're gonna stay the third team from their district for long....

btw, the chronicle reports that the injured player was taylor long, a linebacker, and was taken by ambulance as a precaution, so sounds like he's ok....thank the Lord.....

Great game by the Trojans. Cardinals have nothing to be ashamed of, you fought hard all season long and accomplished things that no one gave you a chance to. Good luck to the Trojans the rest of the way, you guys have a heck of a team. Hope to see yall carry it on all the way!

It looked like Columbus had a different game plan for CS and it seemed to be working the first quarter. After that it seeems like they fell in a rut and did not continue with the plan.
Cold Spring is a big fast team. They are very fundamentally sound and each player knows how to play his position. They have lots of meat up front on both sides and the O and D backs are quick and fast. They go to the ball on every play.
Would not suprise me if they dont beat Kirbyville. Shouls be an awfully good game between these two teams. If CS had a better kicking team I would say CS by 3. So I say CS by 6 in a barn burner.

Congrats go to the Columbus Cardinals. Nobody gave yall a chance in your district. Yall proved to them them that heart plays a big part in winning. Yall have nothing to hang your head about.
