I had heard a player was hurt, but knew nothing more. I am hoping there is only bone fractures and nothing more. Prayers for a full recovery from Gilmer.

The game has gotten so fast and the equipment so good that kids today can really play with reckless abandon. Then add in the spread attack where there are more people running at full speed with more room to build momentum than in the earlier 3 yard and a cloud of dust schemes that were based on pushing people around. I do have a solution to the problem, but no one would ever agree with it. Just simply remove the facemasks again. I know, then kids would start using the crown of their helmet to tackle increasing the risk if a spinal injury yadda, yadda, yadda. But they would also certainly slow down and pay more attention to coaches teaching tackling technique if their beak was in the line of fire as well.

Sorry I don't mean to laugh , but I haven't thought about that - like that! By golly you might be on to something there! You would have to be acutely aware of many things other than putting a kill shot on somebody!

Corey is tough as nails. A good play on both teams, wrong angle for my brother. He will be just fine, and still be able to play in college, a full recovery is expected. It will be a long hard road for the next couple of months, but I'm a firm believer in prayer. We appreciate all those who have been sending letters and saying prayers. He hurts to have to miss basketball, but is still in good spirits. Many thanks to an amazing group of Steers who continue to go by the house and check on him after making the trip to Abilene to see him in the hospital. Your play may be over on the field Steers, but off of it, you are making huge impacts on lives of people, praise God for ya'll!!!!
Corey and our family appreciate the prayers, and wish the best to alls respected teams in the rest of the play-offs.

God Bless!
