Of course purple and gold. Young team overall soph qb has grown alot . Good running game and the defense is solid. I would say watch number 2 bates ... junior that has 10 interceptions so far and I think atleast 2 kick off return td . Not sure if home or visitors

I'd say we do. But we've never had to travel this far in a long while. So i'm anxious to see the turn out. Last year both of our playoff games were within 45 minutes of Alvarado. So who knows the turn out we'll have.

Wylie fans are quite familiar with driving long distances...not just in the playoffs, either. However, unfortunately the attendance hasn't been great this season so far. :( Maybe that will change this week, but either way I'll be there cheering them on!!

I think if B-Port comes out firing on all cylinders and hits Brownwood in the teeth from beginning to end that they can pull this one off. B-Port needs to play great on defense and be very opputunistic especially if you can force some turnovers.

I noticed Alvarado's #55 A.J. Castillo is 5'5" 200 and is a starting DEnd. That there is a low center of gravity!! From what Sandifer said at booster club Tuesday night he is a very good player. I don't know if I've ever seen those dimensions on a player before. I'm anxious to see him play.

We had a NG with those same attributes back in the 80's. He
was fast and very strong. He made a habit of blowing up plays

the guys are pretty funny … they have a two man team in the box and sideline reports too, run interviews from the Alvarado Coaches and so forth. Not professionals, but its entertaining and you know whats going on during the game. You can even call in or email in stuff to them.. I don’t know the number but you can email radio@alvaradoisd.net and send stuff to them like questions etc.. They have a live chat that runs during the game to that can get funny as well.

I know one of the guys and they troll this board a lot and I am going to ask for a 3adownlow shout out on Friday night..

Thanks Old LB... my take on this game is as follows.
Wylie started out as a talented but thin and very untested team after the huge graduation of talent and starters off last year's State Finalist team and a small (by our standards) Sr. class this year. Now with a combo of playing the state's toughest 3A schedule this year and devastating injuries (not an excuse... fact) costing us multiple starters then even back-ups to those guys out--it's been a tough year. But these kids have never gotten down. Chin straps tight--hard work, blending in new players during the season... it's paying off now. We saved some bruised and nicked up guys the last couple of weeks of reg season and got them healthy. The new guys are playing well. We have the best coaching staff in the state--they have been breaking down film and working 25 hours a day to gameplan for this game.
I think you'll see our best game of the season Tomorrow night. Wylie by 7 over a very, very good Alvarado team.

Alvarado hasn't won an Area final game since 1995 i believe. They have turned there playing towards Jason Craig an Alvarado Indian who was paralyzed in horrible car accident. This is something more than just another season for the Indians. They're playing for something more, For the community and for Jason who never got the chance too.
