lmao My time. Three way tie for Zone, Cuero, Schertz-Clemens, And Floresville. Cuero advanced on a coin toss. Had a 6-3-1 Record. Beat Kerrville for the district championship the next week. Then had wins over Gatesville, Gregory-Portland, Ennis in the Semi's, and lost to Brownwood in the finals.

Had some family members on that Ennis team. Took the Gobblers way too lightly.

Cuero was considered a Cinderella team in 1970

yea - but they broke some hearts in 1975 :( (my class) 1st time those Cuero boys EVER lost a ballgame.. State game of 1975. Thus the 44 in a row :)

True, but that 1970 team was considered much better. Had an uncle on that team. Said the coaches spent all week talking about how Cuero had to win a coin flip just to get into the playoffs.
My old man was on the 1975 team.

Wow, that was just yesterday! Cuero was just an upstart in 70 and lost to a pretty good Lion defense, best I remember. The offense was not that bad either!
