Playoff talk heatin' up at Bill's barbershop,
Barber's a talkin', who's hot and who's not.
Looks away to argue, them clippers so near,
Did that bastard just snip the tip of my ear?
Tens bucks out of pocket, piece of flesh I ain't got!

Come on, Cam! I know you can do better!
I've been more entertained by an Obama letter!
As far as Playoffs, Barbers know little,
Just "clouds of dust" and "bust it up the middle!"
I'll save you some money, if you give me the chance,
But after Brownwood gets beat, you'll have to dance!

My aunt lives in Burnet, so I won't be too beastly.
Regardless of who wins, it will wind in the Eastly.
Pick your poison, Buckeyes, Dogs, or Lions,
16 3A will be taking names and writing them down.
We whipped on each other and ended as thought,
Now you other boys will can rue the ticket you bought!

Brownwood's been tops for quite some time. I read the news and keep drinking the wine. In my world where most can't be, I see a title for Wimberley. I know our bones have been bent and broken, that's why the others will take us as token. Meanwhile we'll sit, quiet and subtle, and let others argue, boast, and muddle. When it's all over, and the dust has cleared, the Texans will show they have persevered!!

 :cheerl:  :2thumbsup

Hay Wimberley fans not tiring to get ahead of my self now .
We have games to win so don't have a cow.
And just remember back to 2004.
When the mighty Texans were knocking at the door.
And I know you remember what happened then.
The lowly Gobblers broke out of the pen.
And held the Texans when the needed to score.
Hay it's 2010 let's make it the fog bowl once more.

We'll, I was going to use "there once was a girl from nantuckett".

Thanks for the correction and reaquainting me with the definition of a limerick. I was so proud of myself. You have to agree, not too bad a poem. Unless of course you're a Brownwood fan.

Balls busted ?? A little over the top don't you think? Then again.

Not a bad poem at all. To me limericks sound terrible and poems sound better. Maybe we should have a poetry thread.....?

Why not?? Is there actually enough interest? From the looks of this one, not many.

Enough intrest...maybe. Heck, I could get it up to about three pages by lunch by myself. HA!

good idea baseball coach..why don't you take the first shot.
By the way, are you really a baseball coach? My wife's nephew was a hotshot pitcher at WC but it's been a few years....He was also your QB until a broken hand messed things up..

Simple: Lines 1,2, & 5 must rhyme.
Lines 3 & 4 must rhyme with each other.

Wow...I never knew that!!

I just went back and read the "other" limerick thread.

I didn't care for the "gay" reference in some of them...besides the fact that it's against the rules too.....but I was quite impressed!!

I remember several years ago we were putting "poems" to music.

Every time I do something like that...it always seems to be to the tune of "Beverly Hillbillies":)

It doesn't offend me at all, but the rules are the rules and it's my "job" is to enforce them.

I didn't issue any warnings, didn't send any PM's.....just posted the little FYI.

1). Keep it clean. (3 points) Vulgarity, profanity, sexually explicit/sexually suggestive language and/or pictures, gay references, and racial remarks will not be tolerated. Your posts will be monitored and evaluated based on both language and context, so even if you substitute characters for certain letters, it may be the MEANING that counts.

Gotcha. Sorry, I just think the word doesn't refer to a sexual preference...I don't use it that way, I say other things to reference preference. But I will remember that in the future on here..thanks.

It wasn't even actually what you posted that got my attention, it's where other people take it.

I have 5 kids....they say "that's gay" all the time. Which means, "that's stupid"...are they calling gay people stupid? No....sexual preference doesn't even enter their mind when they say it.

But...on the dlow....that "preference" will always be brought up when someone uses that term....either subtly or outright brazenly. That is what I have to keep an eye out for.;)

There once was a mod on a forum
Who held posters to a certain decorum
There are rules set in place,
Don't discuss politics, religion or race,
So I must beg, plead and implore em.

Okay...pretty lame for my first attempt!! I talk too much to only keep anything to 5 lines!!!:D :D

Twas not about, the fan of the green
More so a place oh so serene
Nor a thing from the past
help the Gobbler ones last
Might help to wake up from your dream

Go Texans!!

Hey Blue42, good chance we meet up next week. We both have to take care of business Friday of course. If this happens, good luck to you and your Gobblers. Your team and your school pride, history, and tradition are respected and appreciated.

This one's for the fortunate few that will get to experience running around all over the state to watch your team play. Safe travels to all. And keep that toilet paper handy.....

Long playoff travels, GPS got your back,
Driving your ass off, your wife takes a nap.
Special care what you eat, keep the belly calmed down,
There ain't many stops, from one town to town.
No places to pee, even worse, take a crap!

I know...I know....it's pretty bad....but I'll bet 99% of you have had to make a mad dash to the bushes at one time or another! Which gets me to thinkin', what do those West Tx folks do? Squat behind a moving tumbleweed and try to keep pace?

Where's tejas and that eloquent mind of his?

As long as the tumbleweed is held in place by a mesquite tree....you don't have to keep pace, just have to worry about thorns!!

Okay Cam. I'll give it a shot for a central Texas road trip.

There once was a fan from central
just smiling, so proud of his dimples
but the pit stop to the game
brought him such shame
exposing his butt full of pimples. :o
