If the Devine comes like the way they come out 80% of this season, then I will go with The Warhorses in this one. Cuero will be the toughest team that we will see this year but I like our chances.

Devine 32
Cuero 28

I'm going with the Gobblers. Even though I don't think they are the same caliber team that they've been the past 3-4 years, they will find a way to win. The players and the community expect to win every time they step on the field. I felt La Vernia could have won our game with them this year, but we didn't make the plays, and Cuero did. The tradition and community support makes the Gobblers better, year in and year out.

Thanks Bearbacker! Yes, everyone in this town is football crazy, year in and year out. We all expect to win and that happens a lot. Some years are better than others, but we must all play with the hand that we're dealt.

Good luck against Somerset on Saturday. Good luck also to the Gobblers against Devine. GO-MEAN-GREEN!

Cuero on Offence has average of 345.5yds per game that 1st D28

Interesting facts, that would be more relative if it just included district play and not the whole season. Seeing that some teams play what is considered at the time a tougher non-district schedule.

Cuero did what it was suppose to do and Devine did what it suppose to do. Thats why I think that Devine has a good chance this year. Devine had two bad losses and Cuero had to bad losses. As far as district concern, I would give the edge to D28 but not by that much. D27 had three teams that we alreday knew that were going to make the playoffs, and D28 had about four teams trying to make the playoffs. As for our top three, and D28 top three, IMO are evenly matched up. Thats why I think the Warhorses have a good chance. It will take a little luck here and there but maybe thats whats going to detemine the out come of this game. Cuero may need a little luck to beat Devine this year and Devine will need a lot of luck. So who knows, maybe things will go our way for once. Luck or NO luck, I still like our chances and the stats could be right this year.

Everybody remember the banned phrase of the week. "__________ just wanted it more". Don't want to hear it. Nobody can measure want and desire and effort and nobody knows what is in a young man's heart. If he doesn't jump up off the ground pounding his chest it doesn't mean he wants to win any less. It just means he is less demonstrative.

Don't make me come hunt you down.

No we didnt, we played in reg. seoson last year in the rain after what people say 10" of rain. This is this year not last year. Last year Cuero was better and Devine was not. This year Devine is a lot better. Im hoping that Devine gives Cuero a good game.

I think HookandLadder was talking about his team (La Grange), not Cuero, playing in the playoffs.. I might be totally off on interpretation though.. it's early and the AC isn't working at the office :(

Another mission,
The powers have called me away.
Another time,
To carry the colors again.
My motivation,
An oath I've sworn to defend.
To win the honor,
Of coming back home again.
No explanation,
Will matter after we begin.
Another dark destroyer that's buried within,
My true vocation.
And now my unfortunate friend,
You will discover,
A war you're unable to win.

I'll have you know,
That I've become...

Indestructible.
Determination that is incorruptible.
From the other side.
A terror to behold.
Annihilation will be unavoidable.
Every broken enemy will know,
That their opponent had to be invincible.
Take a last look around while you're alive,
I'm an indestructible master of war.

Another reason.
Another cause for me to fight.
Another fuse uncovered,
Now, for me to light.
My dedication,
To all that I've sworn to protect.
I carry out my orders,
Without a regret.
A declaration,
Embedded deep under my skin.
A permanent reminder,
Of how it began.
No hesitation,
When I am commanded to strike.
You need to know,
That you're living the fight of your life.

You will be shown,
How I've become...

Indestructible.
Determination that is incorruptible.
From the other side.
A terror to behold.
Annihilation will be unavoidable.
Every broken enemy will know,
That their opponent had to be invincible.
Take a last look around while you're alive,
I'm an indestructible master of war.

I'm...

Indestructible.

From the other side.
A terror to behold.
Annihilation will be unavoidable.
Every broken enemy will know,
That their opponent had to be invincible.
Take a last look around while you're alive,
I am indestructible. (Indestructible.)

Indestructible
Determination that is incorruptible.
From the other side.
A terror to behold.
Annihilation will be unavoidable.
Every broken enemy will know,

Take a last look around while you're alive,
I'm an indestructible master of a Warhorse.

Maybe a good game to attend if you want excitment but it was not a good game from the standpoint of seeing if we (Cuero) are getting better each week. I actually think our play has been more inconsistant as the season has progressed and I feel our offensive gameplan is very unorganized and we have no rythem. We never get the ball snapped until under 10 seconds on the play clock and it causes us to not establish our tempo and we are allowing teams to hand around. We had three golden opportunities to put the game away and could not do it. Also what was the deal with only two recievers in the pass routes and they were always running in the same area? Gosh with our team speed, why not
spread the field?

We must learn to wrap up and tackle better and we must establish an offensive rythem and tempo. Too much inconsistancy. Wimberley has gotten better each week, if we play like we did tonight we will not be playing in week 13.

Did you think they were not going to show up?

I think we just saw a team (Devine) show that if
you continue to play hard and continue to get better each week you can play with anyone.

Devine played an easier schedule, but they believed in what worked for them and for
the most part it worked for them. We are lucky to come out with a "W"

Muffed punt gave us a 12 yard drive
Devine dropped Four would be INT
we got lucky on a two point conversion
and the last play of the game could have been ruled any way. (I do believe the runner was down, and the ref made the right call, it looked as if the knee hit as he was straight up before falling into the endzone) only the video will tell for certain.

I would rather be lucky than good any day, but there is no way we should be pleased and think this is exceptable.

I want to compliment the Devine coach for going for two, any time you play to win instead of not to lose your doing the right thing. It's a tough call to make, I would have not made that call, just because I thought Devine had the better kicker of the two, however I can see where he is coming from as he wanted to take advantage of an opportunity. Cuero had not shown they could
stop Sadler for less than three yards most of the night. It was dang close from Cuero being upset

Headhunter, agree 100% with most of what you have got to see this year as well as tonight. I'll save my words untill after the season. I will say this much. One side of the ball has gotten better as te season went along, the otherside has gotten not only worse, but really bad..........I know some people and teams would love to have gotten a W. This team has so many kids that can flat out play the game, but not in position to play at the level they have always played. Lets hope for lady luck to stay on our side next week because we will need it for sure.

I want to touch on two comments:
1) about most teams would have loved to get the "w" tonight in Week 11. In Cuero Texas, since 1970, we expect to be that team that wins every week 11 game and the day we feel content with just a "w" with a bad preformance is when we really lose focus of what our goal is as a team. I know what you meant is that most teams consider one or two playoff wins a success. Not in Cuero. It may happen, but it is not what's expected. We must get better each week and continue to improve on our weakness's

2) and about the gotton worse - I don't feel we are a terrrible team, we have some dang good players but we are just seeing way to many inconsistancies in the results of plays. We never have established an identitiy of what we do well on offense.

I hope to see a great game this upcoming Friday; we will need to play our best game of the season in order to get the "W" I still do not think there is a team in Region IV who we cannot beat, but if we play like we did over the past two weeks then I do not think we will see week 13

GO WARHORSES!!!!!

LADY LUCK WAS ON CUERO SIDE. I can understand how you (Cuero Fans) feel. Everyone thought that Cuero was going to win big, don't be so hard on your team. Devine really was a better team this year and we (DEVINE) are trying to establish a winning program like CUERO and about a light pre-season schedule, I've been campaigning for DEVINE to play a tougher preseason schedule and play teams like CUERO, LA VERNIA, MEDINA VALLEY, LIBERTY HILL ect..
I hope CUERO gets all their wrinkles worked out and GO's DEEP!!! If we would of beatn CUERO I believe that DEVINE would given WIMBERLEY all they could handle.
Like I said CUERO has been my OTHER favorite team because I RESPECT the GOBBLERS!!!! and envy CUERO's success...but we're working on it and now have great building block for next year.
Once again good game and good luck next week to all my new friends from CUERO!!!!:) :) :)

What a nerve-racking thread... Devine goes for two, I hit refresh and there's a page 13, where I expected to see that Devine had won... Great stop, Gobblers...

Was it luck? Hell no! It was a close game of football where chit happens... If you want to talk about luck talk about the bad luck of losing one of the best running-backs in the state/possibly nation week 5... Which leads me to this question: with a new QB and the loss of this great player, who actually expected Cuero's offense to get better? Hell, who expected them to be as productive and NOT lose a step?

Great job, Gobblers! Here's one guy that's proud of you...

ONE Word.........Adjustments

Gobbla2001
11-13-2010, 09:19 AM
You're right, you do have to adjust...

If you break your ankle you're going to have to adjust... to getting around on crutches...

Does 'Ro have a Segway in the garage they refuse to use to get around with or something?

They sure know how to dig deep when it counts, though it probably won't be enough... But as I said, proud of 'em...

Not at all, There is plenty on this team willing and able to step up and fill the roll just fine. The issue is calling plays (over and over and over) that do not allow the kids to use there strengths.

Shame, shame on you ! You claim to be a Gobbler supporter, but nothing could be further from the truth. All I see from you on here is badmouthing of the coaches year in and year out. I know we all have the right to our opinions, but you go a little overboard IMO. Shift those negative energies to a positive side for the good of all. Let's all pull together and just get along!
